Job Description

Description:

IGNiTE Children & Teen Coordinator Temp (Part-Time)

Cooper Road Campus | Temporary Coverage (Leave of absence)

OUR MISSION

The mission of Eastern Star Church (ESC) is evangelism and discipleship. We are committed to the great commission instituted by Jesus Christ, that is to nurture and save souls (Matthew 28:18-20). Everything we do through our ministries and Care Center is to live out the vision that the Lord has given to our church family.

YOUR ROLE IN OUR MISSION

The IGNiTE Part-Time Contractor will provide on-site and administrative support for Children and Teen Ministry operations at the Cooper Road Campus during the IGNiTE Ministry Coordinator’s leave of absence. This role is responsible for ensuring that weekly ministry programming, volunteer coordination, and event logistics are executed with excellence. While this is a ministry-facing role, success in this position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage the operational and administrative components that support effective ministry experiences.

Schedule & Commitment

  • Part-Time (Approximately 35 hours per week)
  • Sundays required (weekly ministry coverage)
  • Additionally, Saturdays and weekdays are needed for meetings and special events
  • Occasional travel to other campuses or off-site for various ministry offerings

Core Responsibilities

  • Ministry Operations & Weekly Execution
  • Provide consistent on-site support for Children & Teen Ministry at Cooper Road Campus (Children & Teen Church, Kid Konnection, Teen Leadership Council, New Members Orientation).
  • Oversee ministry area setup and preparation (supplies, printed materials, activity prep, room readiness).
  • Manage check-in systems and registration processes.
  • Support teardown and reset of ministry environments.
  • Volunteer Communication & Coordination
  • Communicate weekly with IGNiTE volunteers ahead of Sunday services.
  • Ensure volunteers are informed, scheduled, and equipped.
  • Support Teen Leadership Council coordination.
  • Parent Communication & Coordination
  • Keep parents and guardians informed of ministry offerings (time, dates, locations, any costs).
  • Obtain RSVPs and approvals when applicable.
  • If church transportation is offered, confirm if they will use it.

Meetings & Team Collaboration

  • Attend 1–2 weekly IGNiTE team meetings.
  • Collaborate with Youth Pastor and campus leadership.
  • Provide input for ministry improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned

Special Events & Key Dates

  • Support Children & Teen New Members Orientation, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Success GPS.
  • Assist with logistics, setup, and execution.
  • Organize planned ministry outings

What Success Looks Like (12-Week Assignment)

  • Sundays run smoothly and consistently — environments are set, volunteers are prepared, and families experience a welcoming, organized ministry.
  • Volunteers feel supported and informed — communication is clear, timely, and proactive each week.
  • Ministry spaces are prepared with excellence — supplies, materials, and technology are ready before programming begins.
  • Check-in and registration processes are efficient and problem-free — families are able to engage without confusion or delay.
  • Teen Leadership Council and key gatherings are well-coordinated — communication, setup, and follow-through are handled without gaps.
  • Special events are executed without disruption — logistics are covered, details are anticipated, and leadership is well-supported.
  • The Youth Pastor and campus leadership are well-supported — tasks are handled with minimal follow-up needed. Issues that occur or need resolution are reported.
  • There is continuity, not disruption — the ministry continues to operate at a high level despite the temporary staffing transition.

General Expectations

  • Maintain strong organization and reliability.
  • Anticipate needs and support leadership proactively.
  • Communicate clearly with staff, parents, and volunteers.
  • Align with church policies and standards.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic environment.
