Job Description

Venture Content Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Venture Content Analyst based in Canada.

This is an opportunity to become deeply immersed in the venture capital ecosystem and turn market intelligence into high-quality content.
You’ll track funding rounds, new funds, investors, and emerging trends to understand what is genuinely shaping the market.
The role combines venture research, investment analysis, long-form writing, and content distribution across multiple channels.
You’ll produce thoughtful pieces covering portfolio companies, investments, notable investors, major deals, and important market developments.
Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll gain direct exposure to experienced investors, proprietary processes, and the thinking behind early market signals.
The position is designed to develop into a broader VC Analyst and content-focused role over time.
It is well suited to someone who follows venture capital every day, writes with precision, and is eager to go deeper into the topics they find most compelling.

Accountabilities:
  • Stay exceptionally well informed on venture capital activity, including new funding rounds, emerging funds, notable investors, and significant market developments.
  • Research and identify the developments, trends, and announcements that have meaningful implications for the venture ecosystem.
  • Produce high-quality long-form content for blog articles, LinkedIn, newsletters, and X, prioritizing depth, insight, and accuracy over volume.
  • Write about portfolio companies, investments, fund positions, angel investments, notable investors, major funding rounds, and emerging trends.
  • Conduct the research and analysis required to develop credible, well-supported content and investment-focused narratives.
  • Work closely with the Head of Brand and senior leadership on editorial planning, publishing schedules, and distribution across content channels.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of brand building and the research processes that support effective venture-focused communications.
  • Maintain a high standard of factual accuracy, recognizing that incorrect fund names, round sizes, investor details, or other market information can materially affect credibility.
  • Use AI tools thoughtfully to accelerate research and content workflows while applying strong judgment about where AI can improve efficiency and where human expertise, taste, and original thinking are essential.
  • Build knowledge and experience that can support progression into a broader VC Analyst and content role.
Requirements:
  • Genuine and sustained interest in the venture capital market, with a habit of following the ecosystem closely on a daily basis.
  • Strong knowledge of venture funds, investors, partners, funding rounds, and current market activity, with the ability to identify key players and developments without extensive reference material.
  • Existing experience researching and writing about venture capital, investments, startups, or related market topics.
  • Ability to independently turn research into compelling articles, investment memos, and other high-quality written content.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to factual accuracy.
  • Strong research, analytical, and written communication skills, with the ability to distinguish meaningful developments from market noise.
  • Good editorial judgment and the ability to develop thoughtful, original perspectives on venture trends and investment activity.
  • Practical experience using AI tools in daily work, combined with strong judgment about appropriate and inappropriate use cases.
  • Curiosity, intellectual rigor, and enthusiasm for continuously learning about the venture ecosystem.
  • Ability to work independently and asynchronously while maintaining high standards for quality, ownership, and communication.
  • Comfort operating in a flat organization and learning directly from senior leaders and experienced market participants.
Benefits:
  • Fully remote and asynchronous work environment.
  • Close collaboration with the co-founders and Head of Brand.
  • Direct exposure to an established network of investors and high-quality venture opportunities.
  • Access to internal investment and operating processes.
  • Opportunity to learn directly from experienced leaders and team members.
  • Exposure to a broad range of venture capital activity, investors, companies, and market trends.
  • Opportunity to grow into a dedicated VC Analyst and content-focused position.
  • Meaningful ownership over long-form content and venture research.
  • Opportunity to develop expertise across venture analysis, content strategy, brand building, and market research.
