Job Description
Role Overview
Techstra Solutions is seeking an organized, people-focused, and highly motivated HR Generalist to join our growing team and help build a scalable, employee-focused HR function.
This role is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who is early in their career and looking to learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibility over time. You'll work closely with the Head of HR across the employee lifecycle, gaining hands-on experience in HR operations, employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, benefits, compliance, and HR programs.
In the short term, your primary focus will be ensuring that our day-to-day HR processes run smoothly and taking administrative and employee-support responsibilities off the Head of HR's plate. As you gain experience and demonstrate capability, your role will expand into more complex HR responsibilities and ownership of HR programs and processes.
This is a role where you can grow with the company. We're looking for someone who doesn't want to do the same thing forever, someone who is curious, asks questions, looks for ways to improve things, and is excited to build their HR career alongside a growing organization.
HR Operations & Administration
- Own day-to-day HR administrative processes and ensure employee information and records are accurate and up to date.
- Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records.
- Coordinate new hire paperwork, pre-employment requirements, background and reference checks, and other onboarding activities.
- Manage the new hire onboarding process from offer acceptance through the employee's first days with the company.
- Facilitate new hire orientation and help employees understand company policies, benefits, systems, and resources.
- Coordinate employee status changes, transfers, promotions, and other lifecycle events.
- Support offboarding activities, including documentation, system updates, and exit processes.
- Maintain HR calendars, trackers, and other operational tools.
- Prepare routine HR reports and assist with HR data and reporting.
- Help ensure HR processes are completed accurately, consistently, and on time.
Employee Support
- Serve as a first point of contact for employees with routine HR questions and requests.
- Help employees navigate HR processes, policies, benefits, payroll questions, and other general HR matters.
- Handle routine employee issues independently and escalate more complex or sensitive matters appropriately.
- Partner with the Head of HR on employee relations matters, investigations, performance concerns, and other situations requiring additional HR expertise.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information.
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Coordinate recruiting activities and interview logistics.
- Support the recruiting and offer process as needed.
- Conduct reference checks and coordinate pre-employment activities.
- Partner with hiring managers and internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from candidate to employee.
- Continuously look for ways to improve the candidate and new hire experience.
HR Programs & Compliance
- Support administration of benefits, leave programs, performance management, and other HR programs.
- Assist with annual HR activities, including benefits enrollment, performance cycles, compliance requirements, and employee communications.
- Help maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee resources.
- Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment requirements.
- Assist with HR audits and other compliance-related projects.
Continuous Improvement & Growth
- Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve HR processes.
- Help document and build scalable HR processes as the company grows.
- Take ownership of projects and processes as your knowledge and experience develop.
- Partner with the Head of HR on special projects and strategic HR initiatives.
- Gradually take on more complex HR responsibilities based on your interests, strengths, and development.
- Bring ideas to the table — we want someone who sees an opportunity to make something better and is willing to help make it happen.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is organized, dependable, curious, and genuinely interested in building a career in HR.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in HR, preferably in an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or similar role.
- Working knowledge of core HR processes and practices.

- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong follow-through and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working independently while knowing when to ask questions or escalate an issue.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and HR technology.
- A willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
We Especially Value
- Someone who is hungry to grow their HR career.
- Someone who enjoys being the person who makes sure things get done.
- Someone who is comfortable with both administrative work and working directly with people.
- Someone who naturally looks for ways to make processes easier and more efficient.
- Someone who isn't afraid to ask, 'Why do we do it this way?'
- Someone who can take direction but also develop the confidence to eventually operate independently.
