This role provides essential financial and operational support to a diverse portfolio of mission-driven clients.
You will combine bookkeeping, payroll, budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis to help clients manage their day-to-day operations effectively.
The position requires strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to completing critical financial activities accurately and on time.
You will work closely with clients to answer questions, provide updates, and build trusted working relationships.
The role also offers exposure to evolving financial processes, technology platforms, and special projects across multiple organizations.
Success requires adaptability, sound accounting knowledge, strong communication, and a willingness to take ownership of client needs.

- Provide day-to-day bookkeeping support for assigned clients, including bill payments, account reconciliations, expense documentation, supporting documentation, invoicing, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
- Assist with monthly financial reporting and budgeting activities, ensuring financial records are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Conduct financial analysis to support client decision-making, identify trends, and highlight relevant financial insights.
- Help implement, maintain, and improve financial platforms and processes to ensure they effectively meet client operational needs.
- Communicate proactively with clients, providing progress updates, responding to questions, and helping drive essential financial and administrative work through completion.
- Build strong, trusted client relationships by delivering responsive, accurate, and high-quality financial support.
- Support administrative activities and special projects as needed, adapting to changing client priorities and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with senior team members and contribute to an evolving, flexible team environment focused on service quality and continuous improvement.
- Take initiative to identify operational needs and provide assistance across different areas of client support when required.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Experience working successfully as part of a remote team.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality client service, communication, and relationship management.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and completeness in financial work.
- Willingness to support a broad range of client operational needs and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Ability to work effectively in an evolving environment, embrace change, and proactively identify ways to improve service quality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to clients and colleagues.
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field and approximately 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience are preferred.
- Working knowledge of GAAP is preferred.
- Extensive experience with or certification in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel is a plus.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Asana, Keeper, and Slack is preferred.
- Genuine interest in supporting organizations working toward mission-driven social and community objectives is valued.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
- Must be able to work remotely from anywhere within the continental United States.
