This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Referral Coordinator based in the United States.
As a Referral Coordinator, you will play an essential role in turning healthcare referrals into accurate, timely customer orders and shipments. You will coordinate with healthcare providers, insurance carriers, patients, and internal teams to gather and validate critical information. The role combines customer service, administrative coordination, insurance verification, and careful documentation. You will help ensure medical records meet requirements while resolving issues that could delay service. Success requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. This is a remote opportunity in a fast-paced healthcare environment where accuracy, compliance, and patient support are central to the work.
- Process referrals from healthcare providers and other sources, ensuring required documentation is complete and accurately entered into the customer database.
- Review, validate, organize, and scan medical records, physician orders, signatures, diagnoses, and other required documentation.
- Verify medical insurance benefits for new, existing, and reactivated patients, including customers with updated insurance coverage, and document findings clearly in customer accounts.
- Make and respond to inbound and outbound calls with healthcare providers, insurance companies, customers, and other stakeholders to obtain information and resolve referral or order-related issues.
- Identify missing or deficient documentation, coordinate corrections and signatures, and ensure records are received and filed within required timelines.
- Research and resolve customer order issues, communicate outcomes to relevant stakeholders, and maintain accurate records in accordance with compliance requirements.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of applicable policies, procedures, systems, and quality standards while consistently meeting established productivity and quality expectations.
- Navigate multiple computer systems and databases efficiently, using tools such as Microsoft Office and other relevant applications.
- Support departmental goals through assigned projects, ongoing training, and collaboration with leadership and colleagues.
- Maintain professional, ethical, and compliant interactions with customers and healthcare professionals while following applicable laws, regulations, safety practices, and organizational policies.
- Demonstrate scheduling flexibility to accommodate changing business needs, including potential evening, weekend, or overtime requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of contact center or comparable customer service experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.
- Willingness and ability to participate in telephone-based direct sales activities.
- Strong ability to interpret instructions, guidelines, and procedures and apply them appropriately when resolving work-related issues.
- Comfortable navigating multiple computer systems, databases, and software applications, with strong typing and general computer skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, healthcare providers, insurance representatives, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to establish priorities while managing workload and deadlines.
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, and remain accountable for achieving established goals and objectives.
- Ability to maintain composure and sound judgment in high-volume or stressful situations.
- Demonstrated commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, quality, compliance, and professional standards.

- Total compensation range of $55,227–$82,841, including hourly pay and performance-based incentives, depending on skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
