Business Intelligence Developer III in Oakport Street, California at Alameda Health System

SUMMARY: Responsible for translating business needs into technical specifications and building data solutions, and for the design and deployment of reporting tools, maintenance of data analytic platforms, and the creation of database objects to store and transform data.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: Following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.

1. Collect and analyze business requirements in order to develop, design, and build BI solutions.

2. Leverages best practices and industry standards to develop interactive reporting and data solutions using business intelligence tools.

3. Creates, maintains, and support reports, visualizations, dashboards, and metrics that provide business insight and aid business decision-making.

4. Creates, maintains, and supports data environments and/or data sets to serve a wide range of data users, including but not limited to Data Scientists, Data Analysts, Business Analysts, etc.

5. Extends, supports, and maintains existing data warehouse infrastructures with new dimensionality and new data sources using SSIS, T-SQL, and SSAS.

6. Improves data governance and data quality using Master Data Management systems (MDS, DQS and others).

7. Performs ETL work to pull data from source systems (both on prem and hosted), including manipulating data, and placing in the data warehouse environment.

8. Programs complex SQL queries and stored procedures.

9. Mentors activities of BI Developer I/II incumbents, providing guidance and both formal and informal training.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Required Education: Associate’s degree in related technology field: Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Programming, Computer Science, Database Management, or related field.

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Project Management, Engineering, or related field.

Required Experience: Five years of technical experience in a business intelligence related position; technical experience working with data analytics in a healthcare related field.

Required Licenses/Certifications: Epic Cogito, Clarity, Caboodle, and Clinical, Access, or Revenue Cycle Data Model certifications.

Pay Range: $52.46 - $87.44 / Hour

The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization.
