Description:
We are seeking a SolidWorks CAD Drafter/Designer to support a customer project involving the development of detailed engineering drawings from existing SolidWorks models. This is an approximately six-month assignment with immediate need.
The successful candidate will work with engineering and project team members to convert SolidWorks models into clear, accurate technical drawings. Drawing work will span mechanical, electrical, and soft goods applications.
Candidates located in the Houston, Texas area is preferred, as work may be performed on-site.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Convert existing SolidWorks models into detailed engineering drawings.
- Develop and revise mechanical, electrical, and soft goods drawings in support of project requirements.
- Produce accurate and organized technical documentation based on engineering models and design information.
- Review models and associated information to ensure drawings accurately represent design intent.
- Incorporate engineering feedback, redlines, and drawing revisions as required.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other project team members to resolve drawing questions and discrepancies.
- Maintain drawing consistency, accuracy, and configuration throughout the development and revision process.
- Support project schedules and drawing deliverables within established deadlines.
Required Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience using SolidWorks to develop engineering or technical drawings.
- Experience creating 2D drawings from 3D CAD models.
- Understanding engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, annotations, and drawing conventions.
- Ability to interpret technical information and translate engineering models into clear, accurate drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple drawing assignments and priorities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with engineers and other technical team members.
