Key Account Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Key Account Manager based in the United States.

This role is focused on managing and growing a portfolio of strategic national and global accounts within the HVAC engineered solutions space. You will act as a key commercial driver, developing long-term relationships with owners, OEMs, engineers, and general contractors while ensuring strong revenue growth across assigned accounts. Working closely with independent manufacturers’ representatives and internal sales teams, you will play a central role in positioning technical solutions that meet complex customer requirements. The environment is highly collaborative and technical, requiring both commercial acumen and engineering understanding. You will also engage in cross-border coordination with international teams to support global accounts and ensure alignment on strategy and execution. This is a field-driven, client-facing role with significant travel and direct market engagement across North America.

Accountabilities

You will be responsible for managing and expanding a defined portfolio of key accounts while driving profitable sales growth and strengthening long-term client relationships across the assigned territory.

  • Develop and manage relationships with 4–6 key national and global accounts across North America.
  • Drive business development activities focused on HVAC engineered solutions, ensuring consistent revenue growth.
  • Support the preparation of quotations, technical submittals, and sales proposals.
  • Collaborate closely with independent manufacturers’ representatives to promote and sell technical product solutions.
  • Engage with owners, engineers, OEMs, and contractors to understand project requirements and position appropriate solutions.
  • Coordinate with internal sales teams and international stakeholders to support global account strategies.
  • Ensure alignment with pricing, commission structures, and sales policies across distribution and partner networks.
  • Travel extensively (50% or more) to customer sites, partner meetings, and internal coordination sessions.
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong technical sales experience within HVAC or engineered equipment markets, combined with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across multiple accounts.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent technical education, or relevant field experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales of engineered HVAC products or similar industrial solutions.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, selection processes, and application requirements.
  • Knowledge of psychrometrics and HVAC sizing/selection formulas is required.
  • Proven ability to manage key accounts and drive revenue growth in a technical sales environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage engineers, contractors, and executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively with distributor networks and independent sales representatives.
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally with frequent overnight stays.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to operate independently in a field-based role.
