We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations across a growing real estate portfolio.
Your New Role:
NORF Companies is seeking an Accounting Manager in the New Orleans, Louisiana area to lead and manage the company’s day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in real estate, development, or construction accounting who thrives in a lean, growth-oriented environment.
The Accounting Manager will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing cash flow activities, supporting investor and lender reporting, improving accounting processes, and helping scale the accounting function as the company continues to grow.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strong technical accounting capabilities and the ability to improve workflows, prioritize competing deadlines, and collaborate across departments.

What You Will Be Doing:
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Oversee daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting operations across multiple entities and properties
- Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Track rent collections, loan payments, notes payable, and related interest activity
- Monitor and manage company cash flow, including weekly cash reporting and short-term cash projections
- Facilitate bank draws and lender funding requests
- Process payments to third parties, vendors, and affiliated entities
- Review and approve financial transactions, invoices, mortgage payments, payroll entries, and distributions
- Prepare quarterly lender reporting packages and investor reporting
- Calculate investor distributions and capital calls
- Assist with annual audits and tax return preparation in coordination with external CPAs
- Review audit and tax documentation for accuracy prior to finalization
- Support compliance testing and related reporting requirements
- Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and operational reports for leadership
- Help develop and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and operational workflows
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting accuracy, and increase efficiency
- Supervise and support accounting-related staff and administrative support personnel
- Participate in cross-functional meetings related to accounting operations, development projects, and company initiatives
- Support budgeting activities and expense monitoring to ensure effective financial management
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and operational issues as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- 3+ years of accounting experience within real estate, real estate development, construction, or investment environments
- Experience managing multi-entity accounting structures
- Experience with construction draws, lender reporting, and investor reporting
- Experience with cash flow forecasting and financial analysis
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
