Our location based in Ronkonkoma, NY is seeking a supportive and proactive Warehouse Operations Supervisor.

Position Summary
In this role, you will help coordinate day-to-day receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by keeping workflows smooth, supporting your team, and helping to uphold operational and personnel policies and procedures. You will work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure the branch runs efficiently and safely while serving as a direct point of contact and guide for our warehouse and driving staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Team Guidance: Act as a hands-on leader for the daily operations team, providing direct support and guidance to warehouse and driver staff.
  • Safety & Compliance: Help ensure the team complies with federal, state, local, and DOT regulations, as well as material handling and shipping requirements. Keep management informed of any needed actions or compliance adjustments.
  • Warehouse Care: Assist in safeguarding warehouse operations and inventory by monitoring safety and security procedures on the floor.
  • Facility Support: Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse by regularly inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repairs, and submitting requisitions for replacements.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Work collaboratively to schedule equipment repairs and maintenance with the Fleet and Safety Coordinator.
  • Daily Scheduling: Coordinate daily warehouse tasks by scheduling and assigning assignments to employees, following up to help them achieve great results.
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Coordinate daily activities and communicate smoothly with the branch manager, department heads, and branch sales personnel.
  • System Usage: Maintain the technical and computer skills necessary to effectively use our distribution and office software.
  • Collaborative Effort: Attend company meetings as requested , contribute to the overall team effort , and perform other operational duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Logistics & Compliance: A solid understanding of logistics, including carriers, shipping policies, procedures , and a working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations. A Class A CDL is a plus but not required.
  • Customer Focus: A dedication to delivering superior customer service and the ability to handle difficult customer situations with diplomacy and tact.
  • Adaptability: Exceptional time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Execution & Detail: High accuracy, attention to detail , and the ability to follow written instructions and documented procedures reliably.
  • Independence & Problem Solving: Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities , with the comfort to work productively with some direction from management.
  • Communication: Effective listening skills, good phone etiquette , and a collaborative mindset as a team player who works productively with a wide range of people.

Wage Range: $25 - 32/hour. In compliance with applicable law, this range is a good faith estimate based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law.
