Ensure BAU results are accompanied by clear, end‑to‑end storytelling by connecting model outputs to underlying drivers, trends, and business context so results form a coherent and sensible narrative rather than isolated numbers. Proactively identify execution risks, explain emerging signals or anomalies, and help resolve bottlenecks to support reliable, insight‑driven delivery.

First‑Layer Review: provide first‑round review and quality assurance for routine actuarial outputs.

Model Stewardship: Ensure model and process changes are supported by appropriate testing and documentation and reinforce consistent modeling and governance standards across the team.

Training & Team Development: Lead structured onboarding and foundational training for junior actuarial staff, including delivery of standardized AXIS, projection and modeling process training. Provides ongoing coaching, feedback, and guidance to reinforce best practices in documentation, problem structuring, and analytical rigor while reinforcing modeling standards, and reducing execution bottlenecks.

Process Consistency & Collaboration: Reinforce consistent use of established processes, templates, checklists, and playbooks. Collaborate with Product Line and actuarial partners to support BAU execution and model changes. Communicate execution status, priorities, and risks to leadership.

Flexibility to Support AdHoc Requests & Business Initiatives: Support new business initiatives, what‑if analyses, and cross‑line projects with building capacity flexibility, contributing modeling insights and execution support as needed.

Skills and Background You’ll Need:

Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in mathematics, actuarial science, business or a related field preferred.

Certification: FSA or equivalent international designation. (strongly preferred)

Experience:

  • 5-8 years of progress actuarial experience with demonstrated experience supporting BAU actuarial modeling and reporting using GGY AXIS, including results analysis, execution ownership, result review, quality assurance, and enhance story telling.
  • Hands‑on AXIS modeling expertise (required), including model runs, output review, run controls, and troubleshooting
  • Business knowledge of Retirement Plan or Individual Annuity products, with an understanding of how modeling and projection results support BAU reporting and business decisions.
  • Ability to reinforce strong modeling practices, including documentation standards, testing discipline, and adherence to governance and change‑control expectations.
  • Effective communicator able to collaborate with Product Line and modeling partners and clearly explain AXIS results and modeling considerations.
  • Experience with projection modeling and reporting (e.g., CFT, effective duration, EEV, or similar forward‑looking metrics), including analysis and explanation of results. (preferred)

Key Behaviors of a Successful Candidate:

Winning together: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop influential and collaborative relationships within the team and across the organization to support project execution, communicate progress, and help to accomplish common business goals. Contributes expertise within area of responsibility and is able to translate complex ideas into easily understandable concepts that influence outcomes through execution leadership and partnership.

Strategic Visioning: Uses business context, data, and team insights to support strategy development and align team priorities with broader organizational goals. Helps define practical success metrics for assigned work. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a matrixed actuarial environment.

Driving success: Ability to drive team performance to goals. Provides training, coaching and development to immediate team members. Important role as a mentor to others in the actuarial team. Creates clarity, sets bold goals, and champions execution with a sense of purpose and urgency.
