Overview
The School of Professional Studies is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join its HR team. The Generalist will assist with management and delivery of human resources services for the school, supporting all phases of the employee life cycle. The position will manage recruitment and onboarding for non-exempt and exempt positions and will support hiring and onboarding processes for faculty. The generalist will conduct salary and other analyses and will project-manage, track and report on HR initiatives. Prepare documentation and training around the school's goal-setting and performance evaluation processes and support the Annual Merit Increase processes. Assist HR leadership with planning school-wide community building, engagement, professional development, and recognition events. Advise supervisors and employees on routine employee relations issues, adhering to employment laws, University human resources policies and terms of collective bargaining agreements. Connect employees to other University offices for additional assistance as needed. Process of human resources transactions.
Responsibilities
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience:
3+ years relevant human resource experience with some experience in professional-level or specialist capacity or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include intermediate knowledge of, recruitment, and/or employee engagement and/or training and development.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, interviewing, problem solving, and negotiating skills. Knowledge of human resources concepts, practices, legislation, and procedures. Ability to supervise work processes and staff. Ability to interpret and effectively communicate policies and procedures and resolve problems for a diverse population. Knowledge of standard office software.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of HRIS/HRMS applications and online recruitment systems.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $75,105.00 to USD $91,795.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
