Team Leader-Central Transport in Hattiesburg, Mississippi at Forrest General Hospital

Job Summary:

The Team Leader performs under the direct supervision of the Central Transport Assistant Manager. The Team Leader is responsible for monitoring and delivering transport equipment and assisting with patient transport as needed while maintaining awareness for opportunities to promote the We CARE Philosophy. The Team Leader assists with monitoring Patient Transporters’ performance to ensure proper safety techniques and effective utilization of resources. The Team Leader is ultimately accountable to the Operations Manager of Central Transportation. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to patients, families, and visitors.

Performance Expectations:

• Assures transport equipment is properly maintained, following policy/procedures for repair or replacement.
• Demonstrates the ability to monitor the performance of patient transporters and provide feedback/coaching to ensure they are adequately cleaning equipment and using safe operating techniques.
• Demonstrates the ability to safely transport patients of all ages/developmental levels to and from our facility departments.
• Demonstrates an ability to communicate effectively in all interactions with patients, families, visitors and employees.

Qualifications:

Education/Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent required. A training program will be required to include transport procedures, use and operation of a utility cart, wheelchair, stretcher, bed, oxygen tank.

Work Experience:

None required, but preferably one year's experience in dealing with customer service.
