Position Summary:

Tigua Facility Services (TFS), part of Tigua Inc., supports federal facilities, operations, maintenance, logistics, and mission-support requirements. Tigua Inc. is owned by the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo (Ysleta Tribe). This anticipated position will support Air Force Civil Engineer Center operations, facilities, test ranges, laboratories, and research, development, test, and evaluation activities at Tyndall Air Force Base.

Perform hands-on installation, modification, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of industrial electrical distribution, controls, generators, alarms, lighting, research/test equipment, and associated systems under the technical direction and licensing structure established for the contract.

This role supports a potential contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, modify, test, repair, and maintain conduits, conductors, panels, fixtures, switches, breakers, relays, transformers, cables, controls, and related electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot power, control, relay logic, electronic, generator, switchgear, lighting, fire alarm, intrusion alarm, UPS, lightning-protection, cathodic-protection, and R&D equipment circuits.
  • Read and apply blueprints, one-lines, wiring diagrams, schematics, control-panel diagrams, engineering drawings, technical manuals, and manufacturer instructions.
  • Test completed circuits and equipment; perform load checks, preventive maintenance, inspections, adjustments, component replacement, and fault isolation.
  • Use multimeters, circuit analyzers, breaker testers, megohmmeters, oscillators, phase/rotation meters, recorders, fault-finding equipment, and other trade instruments.
  • Follow NEC, National Electrical Safety Code, Air Force requirements, lockout/tagout, high-voltage, arc-flash, PPE, and safe-work practices.
  • Maintain accurate work-order, inspection, test, repair, drawing, and completion documentation.
  • Support facilities maintenance and other trades when required; participate in approved emergency, severe-weather, or mission-essential response.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician.
  • Current journeyman-level credential, license, or documented qualification appropriate to the work and jurisdiction, subject to final contract requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of industrial electrical installation and maintenance, power distribution, controls, generators, transformers, switchgear, protective devices, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read drawings and technical data, independently trace defects, select repair methods and materials, and test completed work.
  • Knowledge of NEC, National Electrical Safety Code, lockout/tagout, PPE, and high-voltage safety practices.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and shades of colors and satisfy the physical requirements of industrial electrical work.
  • Ability to satisfy the background investigation and installation-access requirements established by the final contract.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Florida-recognized journeyman credential or demonstrated ability to meet applicable local credentialing requirements.
  • Prior DoD, Air Force, federal installation, substation, generator, industrial controls, fire alarm, or research/test equipment experience.
  • NFPA 70E, OSHA, medium/high-voltage, relay testing, generator, fire alarm, or controls training.

Contract Requirements

  • Ability to work onsite at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, and satisfy installation access requirements.
  • Valid state driver’s license and ability to operate Government-owned vehicles when authorized.
  • Ability to comply with applicable Air Force, DoD, federal, state, local, safety, environmental, information-security, and facility requirements.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday within the anticipated 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Time operating window, with maximum staffing during core hours, currently 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Availability for occasional flexible schedules, approved travel/temporary duty, emergency response, severe-weather preparation or recovery, and mission-essential crisis support.
  • Ability to use Government and company work-order, database, reporting, document-control, and communication systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other trades, logistics, laboratory, safety, fabrication, Government, and subcontractor personnel.

Work Environment

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials consistent with assigned work and approved lifting practices.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in heat, humidity, rain, wind, noise, dust, dirt, grease, uneven terrain, and active maintenance/test environments.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and respond to short-notice site conditions safely.
