Director of Business Operations and Performance

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Business Operations and Performance based in United States.

The Director of Business Operations and Performance will play a foundational role in building the operational infrastructure needed to support a growing, technology-enabled organization.
This strategic leadership position will partner closely with executive stakeholders to connect business strategy, commercial performance, delivery operations, financial outcomes, and workforce planning.
The role will establish scalable operating models, reporting frameworks, forecasting processes, and performance management systems that improve visibility and decision-making.
As a highly influential individual contributor and future team builder, the Director will create structure, drive accountability, and enable sustainable growth.

Accountabilities:

The Director of Business Operations and Performance will lead the development of business management capabilities that improve operational effectiveness, strategic alignment, and organizational performance. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership by creating visibility across revenue, delivery, staffing, profitability, and strategic initiatives.

  • Build and lead the Business Operations and Performance function, establishing scalable processes, governance structures, and operating rhythms.
  • Partner with executive leaders to improve decision-making through business insights, performance reporting, and data-driven recommendations.
  • Develop KPI frameworks, leadership dashboards, scorecards, and management reporting systems to track organizational health and performance.
  • Own sales operations processes, including pipeline management, forecasting, opportunity tracking, revenue performance analysis, and commercial reporting.
  • Lead enterprise forecasting activities across revenue, utilization, staffing, profitability, and operational capacity.
  • Create resource planning models that align workforce capacity with business demand, growth initiatives, and delivery requirements.
  • Improve time tracking, utilization management, resource allocation, and operational efficiency across teams.
  • Analyze profitability across clients, projects, services, and business segments to identify opportunities for improved performance.
  • Establish performance management practices that strengthen accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop executive reporting packages and facilitate business reviews that provide actionable insights into trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives focused on process optimization, automation, scalability, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Assess future business operations needs and develop recommendations for expanding the function over time.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in business operations, strategy, revenue operations, financial planning, or related leadership roles, with a strong ability to influence senior stakeholders and build operational frameworks from the ground up.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Business Operations, FP&A, Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, Consulting Operations, Strategy, or similar business management functions.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting executive leadership with forecasting, planning, performance management, and strategic decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of professional services economics, resource planning, utilization management, and profitability analysis.
  • Proven experience developing KPI frameworks, dashboards, operating reviews, and executive reporting systems.
  • Advanced analytical, financial modeling, problem-solving, and business planning skills.
  • Ability to translate complex business data into clear recommendations and actionable strategies.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and executive presence with the ability to influence across teams.
  • Experience building processes, systems, and operating models in growing or evolving organizations.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence, CRM, financial planning, and operational management platforms such as Salesforce, Power BI, Harvest, or Smartsheet.
  • Experience in healthcare consulting, healthcare technology, analytics, software, professional services, or similar industries is preferred.
  • MBA or advanced business degree is a plus.
