Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Production Planner to join our operations team in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment. This role will focus on planning and coordinating the production of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) as well as mechanical assembly. The Production Planner will also develop and maintain a capacity model to accurately determine plant loading and resource requirements.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop, maintain, and optimize production schedules for PCBA and mechanical assemblies to meet customer delivery requirements.
· Balance demand, capacity, and materials availability to ensure efficient throughput.
· Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and quality teams to resolve any scheduling or supply constraints.
· Analyze historical run rates, changeover times, and resource constraints to determine realistic loading.
· Use the capacity model to provide visibility of potential bottlenecks and drive proactive mitigation.
· Partner with materials management to ensure production kits are complete, accurate, and available on time.
· Monitor and resolve shortages, discrepancies, or excesses in kits before release to the floor.
· Support physical delivery of kits to production cells or lines as needed to maintain flow.
· Work closely with production supervisors and program managers to adjust schedules in real time based on changing priorities or issues.
· Provide clear communication of schedule status, changes, and priorities to all stakeholders.
· Support continuous improvement activities to reduce lead times and improve on-time delivery performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
· 3+ years of production planning experience in contract manufacturing or electronics manufacturing environment (PCBA preferred).
· Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (Odoo, SAP, Oracle, etc.) and proficiency with Excel or other analytical tools.
· Strong understanding of capacity planning, shop floor control, and material flow principles.
· Excellent organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-changing environment with multiple priorities.
PREFERENCES:
· Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
· Knowledge of IPC standards for PCBA manufacturing.
· Ability to interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOM), and work instructions.
Working Hours:
· Normal work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 7am until 5:30pm. Some overtime may be required as needed.
