Account Executive, Pharmaceutical Advertising

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Account Executive, Pharmaceutical Advertising based in United States.

This role supports the delivery of advertising and marketing initiatives for pharmaceutical and healthcare clients in a collaborative agency environment.
You’ll serve as a key connection point between clients and internal creative, project, and service teams.
The position combines day-to-day account management, project coordination, client communication, and financial oversight.
You’ll help keep projects organized, on schedule, within scope, and aligned with client objectives.
The role also offers exposure to pharmaceutical products, healthcare audiences, regulatory milestones, and competitive landscapes.
Success requires strong attention to detail while maintaining an understanding of broader client and business priorities.

Accountabilities
  • Manage the workflow of assigned pharmaceutical advertising accounts, ensuring projects remain on track, accurate, and aligned with agreed timelines and deliverables.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and project managers to develop project timelines, briefs, status reports, schedules, and next steps.

  • Serve as a day-to-day client contact when appropriate, providing timely updates, managing communications, and fostering productive relationships.

  • Lead or support status calls and selected client meetings, ensuring clear communication of priorities, progress, risks, and required actions.

  • Prepare and maintain meeting presentations and supporting materials, reviewing deliverables for accuracy and completeness before client delivery or production.

  • Support project financial management by assisting with estimates, budgets, internal approvals, resource allocation, expenditure tracking, billing information, and forecasting.

  • Identify workflow bottlenecks or issues that could affect project profitability, timelines, or quality, and escalate them appropriately.

  • Develop knowledge of assigned products, therapeutic categories, competitors, relevant data, and healthcare audiences.

  • Build an understanding of client objectives, including patient and healthcare professional audiences, clinical milestones, regulatory events, product launches, competitive dynamics, and performance goals.

  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and support business development efforts in partnership with senior team members.

  • Communicate the agency’s recommendations and point of view clearly, helping clients understand both the strategic rationale and practical requirements behind proposed activities.

  • Maintain organized project files and ensure appropriate documentation, cost approvals, and account information are kept current.

  • Support the use of medical, regulatory, and legal submission systems where applicable, helping projects progress efficiently through required review processes.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or a related field.

  • At least 1 year of experience as an Assistant Account Executive, Account Executive, or in a comparable role within advertising, marketing, communications, or a related industry.

  • Previous experience working directly with clients and managing professional client communications.

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and deliverables simultaneously.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with both clients and cross-functional internal teams.

  • Sound judgment, attention to detail, responsiveness, and an appropriate sense of urgency.

  • Ability to understand detailed project requirements while maintaining awareness of broader client objectives and business priorities.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and navigate differing client and agency needs.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience with medical communications, pharmaceutical advertising, healthcare marketing, or related industries is preferred.

  • Familiarity with medical, regulatory, and legal submission platforms such as Zinc or Veeva is preferred.

  • Experience creating Statements of Work (SOWs), project briefs, or similar client documentation is a plus.

  • Commercial awareness and an interest in identifying opportunities to support client growth and account expansion.
