Multi-Site Support (MSS) Program Overview
WSFSSH's Multi Site Support program provides flexible, on-demand staffing coverage across our 30+ residential and program sites, all of which require 24/7 support. Team members step in to fill scheduling gaps and ensure consistent, high-quality service for the individuals and communities we serve — often across multiple roles including Personal Care Assistants (PCAs), Porters, Kitchen Aides, and Program Aides.
This pool is a great fit for candidates who want flexible scheduling, exposure to different sites and teams, and the opportunity to build experience across WSFSSH's supportive housing programs. Many per diem staff use this as a pathway into full-time roles within the organization.
Position Description
The multi-site, per diem Porter will be responsible for keeping the residential building, SRO (single room occupancy) units, and public areas of the residential building neat and organized.
Responsibilities will include:
- Regular maintenance (mopping, vacuuming, cleaning walls, handrails, surfaces, doors, collecting garbage) of the following areas including but not limited to
- Common areas in the mezzanine and lobby, offices, stairwells, elevator and laundry room located on the basement floor
- Sidewalk and front of building is clean and free of hazards (Snow or ice)
- Regular cleaning of the elevator (including, but not limited to: walls, interior and exterior doors, door-tracks.)
- Regular maintenance of all shared bathrooms on the mezzanine, the lobby and the resident floors (clean all surfaces, mop floors, empty garbage, assure adequate supplies of paper products and soap)
- Maintain cleaning checklists
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills / Abilities
- Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse environment
- Comfortable working with older adults
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED, 4 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience in lieu of diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a porter or janitor in a commercial building.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to stoop, bend, reach and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Travel within our sites, and throughout the community as needed.
