Job Description

Description:

Williams & Watt Builders (WW Builders) is a general contractor dedicated to rebuilding homes for families impacted by the January 2025 Eaton and Palisades fires. WW Builders partners with nonprofit programs, gap lenders, and public agencies to guide families home. WW Builders puts the customer first in how we run every part of the business. That is a deliberate difference from production building, and it is central to who we are.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of Williams & Watt Incorporated (WWI), a commercial real estate investment firm, WW Builders is looking to expand its scope beyond fire rebuilds into fee-build developments and acquisitions across mixed-use and multifamily projects throughout Southern California.

If you are looking for a meaningful career with a tight-knit, purpose-driven team that treats employees like family, we invite you to build the future with us. Take a look at our website to learn more about our mission and our team: www.williamsrebuild.com

The Executive Vice President leads the day-to-day operations of WW Builders, aligning teams across the company and positioning the organization for its next phase of growth. Reporting to the President, this leader turns company strategy and commitments into consistent execution across Construction, Purchasing, Project Management, and Customer Journey, takes ownership of the company’s relationships with its program partners, and supports ownership in evaluating and preparing projects that will expand WW Builders operations.

The role is built for a builder-developer who has taken projects through the full lifecycle, who leads by earning the trust of experienced people, and who understands that in our business the homeowner comes first.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Daily Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across Construction, Purchasing, Project Management, and Customer Journey, keeping departments aligned, communicating, and accountable.
  • Work in close partnership with the company’s construction leadership, bringing full project lifecycle leadership to complement deep field and building experience.
  • Maintain clear visibility into schedules, budgets, purchasing, construction progress, and customer issues; identify bottlenecks and risks before they affect projects.
  • Resolve issues that cut across departments, develop solutions and process changes, and build buy-in from the teams who carry them out.
  • Ensure clear ownership and follow-through on decisions and action items.
  • Build the systems, processes, and reporting the company needs as project count grows.

Customer Journey and Program Partners

  • Lead the business customer-first, and ensure operating decisions reflect that commitment.
  • Support the Director of Customer Journey on senior-level homeowner matters and invest in the growth of that leader and function.
  • Take on day-to-day ownership of relationships with nonprofit build partners, program lenders, and public agencies through a structured transition with the President; respond to partner requests and adapt operations to keep programs moving.
  • Represent the company as a senior leader with homeowners, partners, trade partners, and municipalities.

Pipeline and Development Support

  • Support the President and Ownership in evaluating new opportunities, including mixed-use and multifamily fee builds, entitlement projects, and other “one-off” projects or visions we have. Essentially bridging the gap between acquisition and execution.
  • Lead technical inputs, underwriting risk assessment, and due diligence: entitlements, permitting, utilities, infrastructure, design, and construction feasibility.
  • Prepare preliminary budgets and schedules and identify long-lead items and critical decisions early.
  • Coordinate consultants, architects, engineers, and municipalities during pre-construction.
  • Look 6 to 12 months and beyond so the company has the people, systems, and trade partners its next projects require.

People and Performance

  • Lead and develop department heads and build the leadership bench for the company’s growth.
  • Manage staffing levels in line with workload and forecast.
  • Own operational performance against approved budgets and schedules and contribute to forecasting and the monthly financial review with the President and Corporate Controller.
  • Participate in the annual budget process and in the company’s overall results.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years in residential, multifamily, or mixed-use construction and development, including full project lifecycle leadership as a general contractor or owner-builder.
  • Track record of hiring and managing subcontractors, consultants, and project teams through completion.
  • Working knowledge of entitlements, permitting, and building codes, ideally across Los Angeles County jurisdictions.
  • Experience with feasibility, underwriting inputs, and due diligence on development projects.
  • A collaborative leader who earns the trust of experienced team members and builds consensus across departments.
  • Strong judgment and communication with a wide range of stakeholders: homeowners, nonprofit partners, lenders, capital partners, and public agencies.
  • Financial discipline with budgets, schedules, and forecasts.
  • Bachelors in planning, real estate, or construction management, or equivalent real-world experience (school of mud on your boots and hard hats counts).
  • A California contractor license is a plus but not required.
  • Full-time commitment; outside contracting or development activity is not permitted.

Location & Travel: Based in our Santa Clarita office, with regular presence on-site in Altadena, Palisades, and expanded field locations based on growth.
