Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
Starting pay is $17.29 per hour.
Regular work shifts are Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All work shifts are subject to change and can include work hours between either 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Patrols an assigned area in and around City garages; secures doors and windows; reports fire hazards and other security issues
- Performs surveillance of City property by observing television monitors and responding to incidents observed
- Reports disturbances or suspicious circumstances which require police presence
- Operate communication systems, such as assigned radios and other security related equipment
- Writes incident reports as necessary on unusual security issues
- Provides customer service and information to the public
- Removes debris/cleans up any trash or materials which may create a safety hazard
- Performs related work as required
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Up to one (1) year of related experience including some security and customer service work.
- Must be able to work up to a maximum of 32 hours per week. Regular work shifts are Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All work shifts are subject to change and can include work hours between either 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- All work shifts are subject to change based on any changing needs for this part-time position.
- Required to work assigned weekends and holidays.
- Prior security guard and/or customer service experience, preferably for a government entity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook.
- The ability to communicate in various languages is a plus.
