Job Description

At Meazure Learning, we aim to empower open-minded, inquisitive, and driven people, and we love how each new addition to the team adds to our culture. Here, you can positively impact the careers of millions of test-takers and reshape the education technology landscape by working toward one vision:

“To provide life-long learners across the globe the freedom to pursue their academic dreams and career aspirations safely, securely, and conveniently.”

Our Vision starts with our values—Hungry, Humble and Smart. We are looking for team members who model drive for results. Team members who think of the organization and team first without ego or agenda. Leaders who instinctively collaborate and operate with emotional intelligence. This is the foundation of success for all employees at Meazure Learning.

The Role: The Senior Accountant will serve as a senior technical partner to the Senior AR/Revenue Manager, owning the operational accounting work that runs across AR and revenue. This is an operational accounting role for someone who is grounded in the technical rules (ASC 606, AR treatment, cash application, contract interpretation) and equally comfortable applying them in the day-to-day flow of customer billing, recognition, and reconciliation. The role spans a diverse portfolio of revenue arrangements that include subscription, per-exam, milestone, IP, and reimbursable models.

The role runs the full operational accounting cycle: interpreting contracts, generating billings, reconciling customer accounts, recognizing revenue correctly, and landing the close clean. Success requires hands-on Intacct experience, fluency in ASC 606 across multiple revenue models, strong AR judgment, and the business savvy to operate at the intersection of customer success, project management, shared services, and accounting. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who is hungry to operate at a senior level, humble enough to do the work without ego, and smart enough to bring sound judgment to a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret customer contracts and translate commercial terms into the correct accounting treatment, owning the setup, management, and ongoing integrity of revenue contracts and project structures in Sage Intacct across subscription, per-exam, milestone, IP, and reimbursable revenue models
  • Serve as the accounting partner to customer success, translating billing and revenue accounting impacts into clear language they can use to support customers, and joining customer calls directly when the technical explanation is best delivered firsthand
  • Collaborate with customer success, shared services, and project management to design and refine end-to-end revenue workflows, ensuring clean handoffs across contract execution, billing, and accounting
  • Lead customer account reconciliations of AR, unbilled revenue, and deferred revenue at both the customer and subledger to GL level, investigating and resolving variances across Intacct, billing source platforms, and Power BI revenue analysis layers
  • Own monthly AR operations for assigned customer portfolios, including generation of usage-based billings, support of cash application, and reconciliation of cash clearing accounts for ecommerce merchant activity
  • Serve as the escalation point for the AR team on complex collections matters, providing contract context and customer account expertise to help resolve aged balances and unblock collections workflows
  • Prepare, review, and post monthly journal entries for revenue, reclasses, accruals, and adjustments, supported by clean, audit-ready workpapers
  • Perform monthly flux analysis on customer accounts including revenue, AR, unbilled, and deferred revenue, providing clear written narrative for leadership review
  • Serve as a technical sounding board for the team on contract interpretation, ASC 606 treatment, AR treatment, and complex reconciliation matters
  • Own assigned tasks from start to completion in FloQast, supporting a smooth and timely monthly close

The Desired Attributes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance required
  • CPA or CPA-candidate required (active license, or sat for the exam with a clear path to completion)
  • Minimum 5+ years of corporate accounting experience required, with at least 3 years in a revenue, AR, or close-heavy role
  • Demonstrated hands-on application of ASC 606 across multiple revenue models required
  • Strong working knowledge of AR treatment, including cash application rules, credit memo and refund mechanics, and aged balance resolution
  • Hands-on Sage Intacct experience required, with depth in revenue contracts, project setup, AR subledger, and journal entry workflows; equivalent ERP revenue module experience considered
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency required, including Xlookup/Index-Match, Sumifs, pivot tables, and structured workpaper design
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to investigate complex revenue and AR scenarios and arrive at sound conclusions
  • Business savvy, with the ability to interpret commercial contract terms and translate them into the correct accounting treatment
  • Collaborative working style, with a track record of partnering across non-accounting teams to design clean, repeatable processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical accounting concepts clearly to both finance and cross-functional audiences
  • Power BI experience preferred
  • Multi-entity environment experience preferred

The Benefits:

  • Competitive Salary
  • Exceptional Benefits:
  • 401(k) plan with company matching & immediate vesting schedule (100% of the 1st 3% and 50% of the next 2%)
  • BCBS Health, Dental, & Vision Insurance with generous employer funding for employees and dependents
  • Generous flexible time off approach
  • Professional development
  • Fully remote organization
  • Great working environment with a team of exceptional people
