Job Description

Purpose of Job:

The Warehouse Associate – Pipe Yard adds value to our Customers and Co-Workers by being responsible for processing customer orders safely, quickly and correctly so orders can be shipped. This involves being a positive team member by paying attention to detail and accuracy, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position also requires the ability to work indoors and outdoors in both of our pipe yard areas.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure all duties and responsibilities are completed as per Standard Operating Procedures:

  • Order Picking: Meet daily productivity expectations by accurately picking and verifying products according to order specifications and using handheld scanners. In addition within the pipe yard operations, ensure the accurate loading and ofloading of pipe bundles onto and of trucks.
  • Packing: Pack / bundling of products securely for shipment, ensuring all items are accounted for and protected
  • Receiving: Ability to receive inbound pipe loads, including unloading from flat bed trucks and sea containers, put away of inbound loads accurately and safely into the relevant bin locations indoors and outdoors.
  • Prep for Shipping: Label and place picked product in proper location for shipping
  • Loading: The associate is required to also assist with loading pipe onto NEXT’s boom trucks safely and in sequence of delivery priority.
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following company policies and safety procedures; proactively address or report issues, clean as you go and ensure positive customer service for the next shift
  • Equipment Operation: Operate specialised equipment in the pipe yard such as Combi Lift MHE as well as warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and hand trucks as needed, by following all safety procedures
  • Other Duties as Assigned: As a member of the team, there may be other tasks assigned that aren’t listed above
Recommended Qualifications:Knowledge/ Skill/ Ability Requirements:
  • Basic math functions
  • Basic English reading and writing skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment (reach truck, forklift, etc.) safely and efficiently
  • Training on the use of the Combi Lift equipment will be provided upon demonstrated competency on the operation of Fork Lift Equipment.
  • Good English verbal communication skills
  • A positive attitude with the ability to work well in a team environment by showing the character qualities listed above
Experience & Education:
  • MHE Certification required or the ability to obtain within three months of employment. On-site training will be provided if required by the position
  • Previous warehouse experience an asset
  • RF scanner experience required
  • High School or equivalent education
Physical Demands/ Working Conditions:
  • This position involves standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods
  • Position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Position requires the ability to follow repetitive processes
