WORKING FOREMAN

Wick Buildings is seeking an experienced Working Foreman to lead a post-frame construction crew in the Springfield, Illinois area. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who will work alongside the crew while ensuring every task is planned and performed safely. Qualified candidates must have post-frame construction experience, proven leadership experience, and a valid Class A CDL or ability to obtain a Class A CDL

Safety Leadership

• Lead jobsite operations with safety as the first consideration in every task.
• Conduct daily safety discussions, pre-task planning, and job hazard assessments.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and required PPE practices.
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately, including stopping work when necessary.
• Train and mentor crew members on fall protection, equipment operation, material handling, and safe construction methods.
• Maintain a clean, organized jobsite and promptly report hazards, near misses, injuries, and damaged equipment.

Working Foreman Responsibilities

• Work alongside crew members in all phases of post-frame construction, including layout, framing, roofing, siding, and related building tasks.
• Direct daily jobsite activities, assign work, and coordinate crew productivity.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and work plans.
• Ensure projects meet Wick Buildings quality standards and are completed safely and efficiently.
• Train, coach, and develop crew members while setting clear expectations.
• Communicate professionally with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and management.
• Drive company trucks and trailers and operate construction equipment as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain a Class A CDL.
• Post-frame construction experience.
• Proven construction leadership, crew lead, or foreman experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and the ability to recognize and correct hazards.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
• Ability to work at heights, perform physically demanding work, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Experience operating construction equipment.
• Experience training and developing construction crews.
