Job Description
Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00 am to 3:00 pm Saturdays as needed
Industrial Metal Supply, founded in 1948, is a leading metals distributor with seven locations serving California and Arizona. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Store Receiver/Cycle Counter. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and stocking incoming shipments of metal products, as well as conducting cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels. This is a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our inventory management processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receiving:
- Promptly receive and inspect incoming shipments of metal products, verifying quantities, weights, and descriptions against shipping documents.
- Ensure that all shipments are properly documented and recorded in the company's inventory management system. Identify and report any discrepancies or damages to the Warehouse Manager/Inventory Control Supervisor.
- Cycle count to quality system schedules.
- If cycle counts are caught up and there isn’t any receiving, will assist with stocking material.
- Inventory Management:
- Conduct cycle counts to verify the accuracy of inventory levels and identify any discrepancies.
- Counts materials on hand and enters into cycle counter report
- Research and resolve inventory discrepancies, working with the Warehouse Manager/Inventory Control Supervisor/Store Manager/Supervisor and other departments as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory levels, including tracking of inventory movements and adjustments.
- Verifies material locations and makes changes as necessary.
- Stocking and Organization:
- Ensure that all received products are properly stored and organized in the warehouse, storeroom, or POS, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with other departments, including Sales, Production, and Shipping, to ensure smooth inventory management and minimize errors.
- Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager/Inventory Control Supervisor to implement process improvements and optimize inventory management procedures.
- Assist customers as needed.
- Data Entry and Record-Keeping:
- Accurately enter data into the company's inventory management system, ensuring that all transactions are properly recorded and updated.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inventory transactions, including receipts, shipments, and adjustments.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years and older
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- 2+ years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Spanish bilingual speaking a plus
