This role offers the opportunity to play a hands-on part in protecting a fast-moving cryptocurrency business from financial crime and regulatory risk.
You will investigate suspicious activity across digital platforms and a large-scale cryptocurrency transaction network.
The position combines transaction monitoring, AML/BSA compliance, KYC/CDD reviews, sanctions screening, and investigative analysis.

Your work will help strengthen controls, support regulatory obligations, and surface actionable insights for leadership.
You will collaborate with compliance teams, regulators, auditors, and business stakeholders in a rapidly evolving environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented AML professional who wants to take genuine ownership of risk decisions rather than simply follow checklists.

- Review and analyze transaction monitoring alerts to identify potentially suspicious activity and determine appropriate escalation and documentation.
- Conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) reviews in accordance with applicable AML requirements.

- Prepare and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and other required regulatory reports accurately and within applicable deadlines.
- Use blockchain analytics tools to trace cryptocurrency transactions, investigate activity, and assess counterparty and transactional risk.
- Communicate with regulators and auditors regarding risk monitoring, controls, prioritization methodologies, and investigative findings.
- Develop and report risk mitigation information, identify emerging trends, and provide insights that leadership can use to strengthen the compliance program.
- Review internal data, systems, controls, and processes to verify adherence to AML requirements and identify potential compliance gaps.
- Recommend improvements to AML processes, controls, workflows, and monitoring practices when opportunities or deficiencies are identified.
- Stay current with evolving AML/BSA regulations, FinCEN guidance, sanctions requirements, and cryptocurrency-specific compliance developments.
- Support additional compliance initiatives, investigations, and special projects as required.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in AML, BSA compliance, fraud investigations, financial crime compliance, or a closely related field.
- Experience within fintech, money services businesses (MSBs), cryptocurrency exchanges, financial institutions, or similar regulated environments is strongly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of AML/BSA regulations, KYC and CDD requirements, transaction monitoring, and sanctions screening, including OFAC requirements.
- Familiarity with cryptocurrency transactions and blockchain-based financial activity is highly desirable.
- Experience using blockchain analytics or transaction monitoring platforms such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, or comparable tools is a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify unusual patterns, inconsistencies, and potential risk indicators within high-volume transaction data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex risk findings clearly to regulators, auditors, compliance teams, and non-compliance stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, well-supported investigative documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple investigations and priorities simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented approach with strong organization, time management, independent judgment, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment when assessing risk and determining when activity requires escalation or further investigation.
- Candidates must be currently based in Latin America or Europe according to the engagement requirements.
Benefits
- Competitive salary paid in USD on a consistent monthly basis.
- 100% remote work arrangement.
- Opportunity to work within the rapidly evolving cryptocurrency and fintech sector.
- 10 paid vacation days per year.
- U.S. federal holidays included as paid holidays.
- Professional remote work setup with the flexibility to work from eligible locations in Latin America or Europe.
- Exposure to complex AML investigations, cryptocurrency transactions, blockchain analytics, and emerging financial crime risks.
- Opportunity to contribute to the development and maturity of a growing compliance function.
- Supportive and collaborative working environment with opportunities for professional growth.
