As a Senior Experience Researcher, you will define research strategies, lead end-to-end studies, and provide actionable insights that guide product decisions. You will work across multiple product areas, helping teams understand customer behaviors, identify opportunities, and build experiences that create measurable impact.
- Develop and execute mixed-method research strategies, including interviews, surveys, usability testing, concept testing, and quantitative analysis.
- Define research agendas by identifying high-value questions, uncovering customer needs, and influencing product priorities.
- Connect research initiatives to broader business objectives by identifying opportunities to improve customer engagement, growth, and retention.
- Build research frameworks, measurement systems, and strategic models that support decision-making across product teams.
- Quickly understand new products, markets, and user groups while transforming ambiguous challenges into structured research plans.
- Leverage AI tools throughout the research lifecycle, including creating reusable workflows, automations, prototypes, and research solutions.
- Evaluate AI-generated insights critically to ensure accuracy, reliability, and responsible application.
- Partner with product managers, designers, engineers, and data teams to influence strategic decisions through customer insights.
- Create compelling research narratives, presentations, and executive-level recommendations that drive alignment.
- Contribute to the evolution of AI-enabled research practices and help teams adopt new methodologies.
The ideal candidate is an experienced researcher with strong strategic thinking, analytical capabilities, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams. You should have a proven track record of conducting impactful research, building scalable research programs, and translating complex findings into business and product outcomes.
- 8+ years of experience in applied user research, experience research, product research, or a related discipline.
- Degree in behavioral or social sciences such as Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Information Science, Economics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Strong expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies across different product development stages.
- Experience conducting interviews, surveys, usability studies, concept testing, and data-driven analysis.
- Proficiency with research and analytics tools such as Qualtrics, dscout, R, SPSS, or Python; SQL experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to build research frameworks, measurement systems, segmentation models, or scalable research programs.
- Strong AI fluency, including experience using AI tools for research workflows and developing AI-powered solutions or automations.
- Ability to critically evaluate AI outputs and apply AI responsibly within research practices.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and shaping product strategy through research insights.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently in fast-changing environments and manage complex priorities.
- Experience with AI-powered products, marketplaces, integrations, acquisitions, or rapidly evolving product areas is a plus.
- Competitive salary range based on location, experience, skills, and qualifications:
- $159,800 – $206,800 USD for candidates in most US locations.
- $169,200 – $218,900 USD for candidates in select metropolitan areas.
- $187,900 – $243,100 USD for candidates in major markets such as San Francisco Bay Area, San Jose, New York City, and Seattle.
