Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

As a LINX Multimedia Project Engineer, you manage complex commercial AV systems and serve as the principal technical owner from the design phase through implementation, making sure the customer’s needs are met. Working closely with clients and our project teams, you deliver projects to the highest standards, on time and within budget.

ABOUT LINX:

Join a team that connects people through technology. We design, install, and support commercial network cabling for data centers, multimedia, security, and wireless systems.

In 2003, industry experts founded LINX to create the workplace they wanted—one built on integrity, teamwork, and innovation. These core values drive us daily, shaping a culture where employees grow and take pride in their work.

Headquartered in Denver, CO, with regional offices in Seattle, WA; Salt Lake City, UT; San Antonio, TX; Atlanta, GA; Cheyenne, WY; and Des Moines, IA, we’re growing fast! With AI, remote work, and digital transformation accelerating, now is the time to build your future with LINX.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES:
  • Own design intent across assigned projects; align internal and external stakeholders and adapt intent as their needs evolve
  • Own the technical reality of your projects independently; lead complex issues and anticipate problems, catching risks before they become field calls
  • Manage timelines and milestones across multiple concurrent projects; plan backward from project dates and communicate risk early
  • Create drawing submittals for AV packages (floor plans, RCPs, elevations, one-line diagrams), including heat, power, and other needed calculations
  • Translate AV system designs into complete, constructable drawing packages; review equipment data sheets to confirm product functionality and compatibility
  • Generate RFIs and Change Orders when projects require
  • Maintain LINX standards for CAD and drafting documents, and improve them when gaps surface
  • Perform site walks and conduct customer meetings
  • Maintain red lines and as-builts in Bluebeam Studio
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure equipment procurement and resource availability
  • Provide technical oversight during installation, configuration, and calibration of AV systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to audio-visual equipment
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AV industry trends, technologies, and standards

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in professional audio/video integration or a construction-related field
  • AVIXA CTS
  • Intermediate to advanced computer modeling skills required; AutoCAD preferred
  • Experience with Bluebeam and the ability to create markups
  • Good understanding of AV system signal flow and design
  • Experience installing commercial-grade AV systems
  • Ability to create AV shop drawings, including floor plans, RCPs, elevations, one-line diagrams, and heat, power, and other needed calculations
  • Ability to read construction drawings
  • Proficient understanding of AV systems and equipment
  • Proficient understanding of the construction process
  • Proficient in the RFI process
  • Able to manage multiple projects of all sizes at the same time and set priorities to meet deadlines

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • AVIXA CTS-D plus two advanced manufacturer certifications
  • Track record owning multiple concurrent projects end-to-end
  • Experience coordinating directly with general contractors, vendors, and field teams
