Job Description
Description:
Boulder Imaging is seeking to hire an Avian Data Operations Coordinator to contribute to the development and enhancement of our cutting-edge vision-based inspection technology. Our future team member will be responsible for Classification and Quality Assurance (QA) of avian images received from a global network of Identiflight systems and assist in biodiversity initiatives. This position will also coordinate with Identiflight Application Engineers in monitoring the function and health of a global network of avian study sites.
Requirements:- Classification: Able to identify and correctly categorize avian images from a global network of sites.
- Perform quality assurance (QA) by reviewing "birds in buckets" to identify and correct classification mistakes.
- Biodiversity initiatives: Assist leads in biodiversity initiatives including documentation, training materials, and Master Species List.
- Perform routine system monitoring of global network of study sites: document system status, updates and outages in a timely manner.
- Technology: Comfortable in using Microsoft Windows tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint to fulfill daily responsibilities. Ability to ramp up proprietary tools required for data collection purposes.
Minimum Education and Work Experience:
- 1+ years of experience working with imagery classification is preferred
- Associate's degree or equivalent, or 4 years of experience in a related field
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Zoology, Wildlife Biology, Ecology or related scientific field preferred
Qualifications and Skills:
- Exhibit ability to learn quickly
- Analytical thinker with effective troubleshooting skills
- Approachable, enthusiastic and collaborative team member
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Interest in wind energy and wildlife conservation is a plus
