Job Description

Description:

Join Us in Transforming Healthcare Education

At Joyce University, work is more than a job—it's a shared commitment to student success, innovation, and purpose.

Since 1979, we've been driven by one mission: preparing people to serve as competent healthcare professionals while empowering every student to succeed. As a Professor of Nursing Simulation, you'll play a critical role in bringing that mission to life through immersive learning experiences that help students develop clinical judgment, confidence, and compassion before entering patient care environments.

If you're passionate about simulation, experiential learning, and developing the next generation of nurses, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day.

The Impact You'll Make

Simulation is more than technology—it's one of the most powerful ways students learn to think, communicate, and provide safe patient care.

In this role, you'll help students bridge the gap between classroom learning and clinical practice by facilitating realistic, evidence-based simulation experiences that strengthen competence and confidence.

Your work will directly contribute to student readiness, licensure preparation, and long-term success as healthcare professionals.

What You'll Do

Facilitate Exceptional Learning Experiences

  • Lead simulation-based learning experiences using Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice™
  • Conduct engaging prebriefing and debriefing sessions that promote reflection, critical thinking, and clinical judgment
  • Create supportive learning environments where students feel challenged, encouraged, and empowered to grow
  • Provide meaningful feedback that helps students identify strengths and opportunities for development

Partner to Advance Student Success

  • Collaborate with course faculty, simulation operations specialists, and academic leaders to create seamless learning experiences
  • Support curriculum integration and scenario development that aligns with program outcomes
  • Contribute to interprofessional education initiatives and innovative teaching strategies
  • Help ensure experiential learning experiences support the full student journey

Drive Innovation and Excellence

  • Integrate advanced simulation technologies, including high-fidelity simulators, virtual reality platforms, and electronic health record systems
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through assessment, feedback, and evidence-based practices
  • Participate in simulation center activities, accreditation efforts, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in simulation and nursing education

What Makes You Successful in This Role

You will thrive at Joyce if you:

  • Believe every student can, should, and will succeed
  • Lead with empathy, professionalism, and accountability
  • Enjoy mentoring and developing future healthcare professionals
  • Create learning environments where students feel seen, supported, and challenged
  • Stay curious and continuously seek new ways to improve teaching and learning
  • Collaborate effectively across teams to advance student success
  • Balance high standards with genuine care for learners
