POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position: Chef - Jennings at Notre Dame Village
Department: Culinary
Reports to: Executive Director/Administrator

At Jennings, food is more than nourishment, its comfort, connection, and an important part of daily life. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chef who takes pride in creating meaningful dining experiences for older adults.
Position Overview
Full Time, 5 days per week including every other weekend
Part time, 2 days per week including every other weekend
The Chef will ensure residents enjoy delicious food prepared fresh daily for lunch and dinner and ensure the kitchen is stocked for breakfast.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare lunch and dinner for the residents of the Jennings at Notre Dame Small Houses
- Work with the Dietician to plan menus that are both nutritious and enjoyable
- Develop and manage the Culinary Department budget including planning for food purchases, inventory management and cost-effective procedures
- Oversee meal preparation and service with attention to quality and presentation
- Ensure all health, safety, and sanitation standards are consistently met
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and coworkers
- Help create a dining experience that residents look forward to each day
What You Bring
- Experience cooking in a healthcare or senior living environment
- A genuine love for cooking and serving others
- Strong organization skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Clear and compassionate communication skills
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- A commitment to cleanliness, safety, and high standards
Education & Experience
- Culinary, hospitality, or restaurant management training preferred
- Food safety and sanitation training a plus
- Experience in healthcare or senior living environments is highly valued
