About the role

The Litigation Paralegal supports attorneys across all stages of personal injury litigation, from initial filings through trial preparation and resolution. This role supports our personal injury team through all phases of the litigation process, including managing medical records and bills, coordinating with healthcare providers and insurance carriers, and assisting with settlement demands and trial preparation.

What you'll do

• Assist in all phases of the litigation process including drafting and helping to prepare legal documents such as standard motions, notices, discovery, pleadings for filing, and assist in trial support.

• Maintain case files, ensuring all relevant documents, correspondence, and evidence are properly recorded and filed. Work with attorneys to ensure all applicable deadlines are met.

• Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and witnesses to gather necessary information and documents – this includes depositions, hearings, and court appearances, ensuring all necessary parties are notified and prepared.

• Assist in the preparation of deposition and trial materials, including exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.

• Maintain a thorough understanding of local court rules, procedures, and filing requirements.

• Provide administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence.

• Assist in the preparation for mediation, arbitration, and settlement negotiations. Summarize cases and prepare reports for attorneys. Communicate case details with clients and attorneys.

• Managing and scheduling legal calendars.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish (Preferred, but not required)

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a litigation paralegal, preferably in personal injury law.

• Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and legal terminology.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.

• Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage a high-volume of cases simultaneously.

• Exceptional time management skills to effectively prioritize and manage litigation tasks.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and adapt to changing circumstances.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion in handling sensitive information.

• College degree and/ or paralegal certificate preferred.
