Job Description

Dental Office Manager

At Project HOME, we believe everyone deserves access to high-quality, compassionate healthcare. We are seeking an experienced Dental Office Manager to lead the daily operations of our busy dental clinic at the Stephen Klein Wellness Center in Philadelphia.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on healthcare leader who enjoys building high-performing teams, improving patient experiences, and creating operational excellence in a mission-driven environment. Working alongside the Dental Director and healthcare leadership team, you will play a key role in expanding access to dental care for underserved communities.

  • Location: 2144 Cecil B. Moore Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19121 (Stephen Klein Wellness Center-SKWC)
  • Schedule/Availability: Monday - Friday 8:15 am - 5:00 pm EST. This is a full-time, exempt role.
  • Salary Range: $71,035 - $83,571/annually (based on experience & education)

What You Will Do

Operations Leadership

  • Lead day-to-day dental clinic operations
  • Monitor productivity, staffing, and workflow efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with HRSA, OSHA, CDC, HIPAA, and Pennsylvania regulations
  • Support departmental planning and operational improvement initiatives

Patient Experience & Access

  • Oversee scheduling, patient flow, and clinic operations
  • Resolve patient concerns and service issues
  • Maintain a welcoming, patient-centered environment
  • Improve access through effective staffing and scheduling practices

Revenue Cycle & Administrative Operations

  • Support insurance verification, billing, and collections processes
  • Oversee pre-authorizations and referral coordination
  • Partner with Revenue Cycle teams to improve financial performance
  • Monitor no-show rates and scheduling effectiveness

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop staff
  • Conduct performance evaluations and accountability conversations
  • Approve payroll and ensure accurate timekeeping
  • Foster a collaborative, mission-focused culture

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a dental, medical, eye care, or multi-specialty practice
  • Experience managing clinic operations, scheduling, patient access, and staff performance
  • Knowledge of insurance verification, billing, pre-authorizations, and revenue cycle processes
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems; eClinicalWorks preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

What You May Bring

  • Experience managing dental operations
  • Experience in a mission driven practice, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health center.
