Job Description

Purpose of Position: Responsible for conducting inspection and test procedures on incoming material from suppliers and production failures to assess compliance with quality standards.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

  • Execute incoming inspections on components from suppliers including custom machined parts, custom wire harnesses, and other purchased assemblies.
  • Accurately record quality issues encountered during inspections.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to minimize observed quality issues.
  • Propose changes to inspection requirements and criteria based on results of inspections performed.
  • Collaborate with quality and design engineering to help determine inspection criteria for new parts.
  • Create rework work instructions and perform some rework activities in support of in-house recovery of discrepant parts.
  • Perform part containment activities as assigned by the Quality Engineer.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • 2 years working within a manufacturing quality system.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical systems and components.
  • Proficient at interpreting component drawings and specifications.
  • Competency with basic measurement/diagnostic tools such as calipers, microscope, digital multimeter, etc.

Physical Demands of Position:

  • Physically able to lift up to 20 pounds (materials/equipment)
  • Effective use of computer, laptop, cell phone and other mobile device to exchange information.
