LOCATION & SCHEDULE: 5400 Gibson Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM

• Full-time schedule - you know this work! Weekends, holidays and being able to be flexible when you need to step in to keep things running 24/7 as part of the shelter leadership team.
• In-Office: This position will primarily be working at the NM Women’s Housing Navigation shelter, with the occasional expectation of working from the main office.

• Your proven skills in peer support practices, case management, and housing program operations.
• Your experience supporting individuals and families impacted by trauma, mental health issues, or homelessness.
• Your strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building capacity.
• Your expertise in maintaining program compliance and delivering services within Rapid Rehousing and Transitional Housing guidelines.
• Your ability to navigate local housing markets, rental programs, and landlord relations.
• Your familiarity with shelter-based operations, crisis response, and safety protocols.
• Your accuracy and attention to detail in data tracking, reporting, and quality assurance activities.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
As the Lead Certified Peer Support Worker, you'll provide leadership and support to the Housing Support Specialist team at Womens Housing Navigation Shelter. You'll ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality, client-centered housing support services, including Rapid Rehousing and Transitional Housing programs. You'll coordinate day-to-day operations, assist with complex cases, foster team development, and oversee some administrative functions such as reporting, compliance tracking, and communication with leadership.

Most importantly, you'll promote trauma-informed practices, uphold shelter standards, and support clients' transition to permanent housing through direct service and team leadership.

• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to Housing Support Specialists and Caseworkers, including leading team huddles, mentoring staff, and assisting with onboarding and training.
• Oversee service delivery by monitoring caseloads, supporting complex client cases, conducting assessments when needed, and ensuring timely, client-centered housing services.
• Ensure program compliance and operational effectiveness by maintaining documentation, tracking performance metrics, managing reporting tools, and supporting adherence to program requirements.
• Collaborate with leadership, community partners, landlords, and multidisciplinary teams to address operational needs, strengthen housing resources, and coordinate client support services.
• Respond to client crises and urgent program needs by providing direct services, supporting emergency interventions, maintaining a safe and trauma-informed environment, and preparing reports and program updates for stakeholders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education /Background:

• Certified Peer Support Worker required
• A Bachelor’s degree, preferred or
  • A combination of a minimum of 3-4 years of work experience and education will be considered.
  • Minimum two years of experience in housing, case management, or social service delivery.
• Previous experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or in a supportive housing setting is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles and a commitment to applying them in practice.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and demonstrate cultural competency.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office and client management software.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed
