About the role
- We have exciting permanent opportunities for experienced, hands-on Assistant Production Managers to join our team at our Riverwood site in South-West Sydney, working either morning or afternoon shifts. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of food processing operatives, ensuring production runs according to the planned schedule while consistently meeting key performance indicators (KPIs). We have exciting permanent opportunities for experienced 'hands-on' (production floor) Assistant Production Managers to work on our morning or afternoon shifts at our Riverwood site, South-West Sydney. Reporting to the Production Manager the roles will each manage a team of food process operatives ensuring production runs to planned schedule and KPI's are met. The roles offer a unique chance to broaden your skill set and make a lasting impact on our organization.
What you'll do
- Daily supervision and direction of a small production team under the guidance of the Production Manager
- Be responsible for the daily team support and review of staff performance
- Coordinate on the job staff training and assessment
- Oversee and ensure adherence to standards in quality, safety and efficiencies across the assigned production lines to meet shift requirements
- Ensure team compliance to health and safety standards and reporting of all near misses and hazards
- Maintain food safety/production records ensuring their accurate completion
- Ensure organization of the work area and GMP standards
- Oversee production lines supply of raw materials/components
- Conduct physical inventory checks for stock verifications
- Trouble shoot production issues and escalate equipment malfunctions
- Contribute to minimizing food wastage in the production area
Qualifications
- Background in food manufacturing/preparation and/or large volume commercial kitchen facility, operating food production equipment
- Sound understanding of GMP, HACCP and Food Safety practices
- Certificate II in Food Processing (or working towards this qualification) or equivalent (Desirable)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Good interpersonal skills to work with people from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to give clear instructions to team and manage team performance
- Ability to inspire and motivate the team to realize their full potential
- Dedicated with strong work ethic and "can-do" attitude
- Able to work in fast paced production environment with changing priorities
