GI Alliance is seeking an experienced Unit Technician.


Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:



Position purpose

Responsible for performing ancillary duties dictated by the nurse, coordinator or Director that assist the medical staff in providing quality care to our patients in a professional efficient manner.


Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

  • Transport patients to their cars.
  • Transport patients from admitting to procedure rooms.
  • Clean and make recovery beds when they become vacant and transport to admit.
  • Monitor sharps containers in the admit/recovery area for fullness.
  • Empty the linen baskets when full.
  • Keep nurses station stocked with patient education pamphlets and other essential papers for use by nursing staff.
  • Keep IV cart stocked in admit and recovery.
  • Clean blood pressure cuffs and stock admit/recovery bays every day.
  • Assist with unpacking supplies if time allows.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications
    Education: High school diploma or equivalent. BLS certificate encouraged.
    Experience: Three to six months’ related experience preferred.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Physical Demands.
  • Requires substantial standing, sitting, bending, lifting, pushing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • Equipment Operated: This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
