Required Education
PhD or similar doctoral-level preparation in social work, psychology, public health, counseling, medicine, nursing, or other field related to mental and behavioral health, completed within the past 4 years.
Required Related Experience
Clinical experience in behavioral health, social work, psychology, public health, counseling, medicine, nursing or other field related to mental and behavioral health.

Experience in research, including data collection and scientific writing.
Required License/Registration/Certification
Eligible for clinical licensure in a behavioral health field.
Physical Requirements
Repetitive motion typical of desk work (sitting/bending/typing/twisting)
Prolonged exposure to computer screen time
Lifting/pushing/pulling up to 25lbs
Shift
Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; evenings and weekends as needed
Job Summary
The UK Department of Psychiatry seeks a Post-Doctoral Scholar to conduct research on child, adolescent, and young adult mental health research and/or substance use research. The scholar will participate in meetings and collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry research faculty, including working with investigators on currently funded research projects. Additionally, participation in scholarly activities, including the production of manuscripts, refereed presentations, and collaboration on grant proposals, is expected.
Strong applicants will be motivated to conduct interdisciplinary research in these areas and will demonstrate scholarly potential that makes them competitive for future funding as an independent investigator.

Preferred Education/Experience
-A defined research agenda related to one or more of the following: child, adolescent, or young adult mental health or substance use, including a focus on trauma or suicide prevention.
-Established record of scholarly publications or manuscripts published or under review.
-Experience leading or managing research teams or complex projects.
-Experience working with interdisciplinary teams and community or state agency partners.
-Experience with mixed-methods research designs.
