Ironwood Connection is seeking a Strategic Account Coordinator to serve as the operational extension of the Account Development Manager, transforming customer opportunities into organized action and ensuring every commitment moves seamlessly from initial customer engagement through successful project completion.
This role is responsible for coordinating customer communications, quotations, proposals, project transitions, internal collaboration, and follow-up activities across the organization. Working closely with estimating, engineering, production, purchasing, scheduling, installation, and accounting teams, the Strategic Account Partner helps deliver an exceptional customer experience while allowing the Account Development Manager to focus on relationship development, customer engagement, and business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily activities supporting assigned strategic customer accounts.
- Maintain visibility into active opportunities, proposals, project status, customer commitments, and account priorities.
- Organize and maintain customer information, documentation, and account activity within company systems.
- Monitor customer activity and ensure commitments remain on schedule.
- Support account planning initiatives and long-term customer development strategies.
- Coordinate quotation requests with estimating and engineering teams.
- Track proposals from initial request through award or closeout.
- Ensure specifications, drawings, pricing, and supporting documentation are complete and accurate.
- Monitor bid schedules, customer deadlines, and proposal submissions.
- Maintain accurate opportunity pipelines, CRM records, and reporting.
- Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Draft customer correspondence, proposals, and follow-up communications.
- Schedule customer meetings and coordinate appointments.
- Maintain detailed records of customer conversations, commitments, and action items.
- Coordinate the transition of awarded projects into production and installation.
- Communicate customer requirements and project expectations to internal departments.
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify potential issues before they impact customers.
- Coordinate communication between customers and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with change requests, project updates, and customer communications.
- Collaborate with estimating, engineering, production, purchasing, scheduling, accounting, and installation teams to support successful project execution.
- Maintain visibility into project milestones, outstanding commitments, and follow-up activities.
- Resolve routine issues through cross-functional collaboration and escalate complex concerns to the Account Development Manager.
- Identify opportunities to improve organization, communication, and operational efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the sales and project lifecycle.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Associate degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Two or more years of experience supporting sales, customer accounts, project coordination, estimating, construction administration, or related operational functions.
- Experience within construction, architectural products, building materials, millwork, specialty contracting, manufacturing, or related industries preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional service.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently follow through on commitments.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM or project management software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- May occasionally travel to customer locations or project sites as business needs require.
