About the role

REQ is seeking an Account Manager to join our growing Public Relations team.

This role is responsible for managing client relationships, leading execution of strategic communications programs, and contributing to account growth and team development.

You will operate as a trusted client partner, strategic contributor, and team leader, with accountability for both program performance and client satisfaction.

Please note that we are especially seeking candidates located in or around Phoenix, Arizona.

What you'll do

Client Leadership & Relationships

Serve as a primary day-to-day client contact, building strong, trust-based relationshipsCommunicate effectively with senior client stakeholders, including contributing to strategic discussions and presentationsUnderstand client business priorities and provide informed recommendations that align communications efforts to broader goalsLead client meetings, planning sessions, and proactive check-ins

Account Ownership & Project Management

Manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, priorities, and deliverables are metGuide clients and internal teams on expectations, workflows, and program executionAnticipate challenges and proactively adjust plans based on business needs and external factorsLead account kickoffs and ensure programs are set up for long-term success

Strategy, Media & Execution Excellence

Own and drive media strategy for accounts, ensuring performance against agreed-upon goals and metricsSecure high-impact media coverage by leveraging strong knowledge of industry trends and media landscapesLead development of high-quality content including press releases, thought leadership, and executive communicationsDeliver creative, timely ideas that drive results and uncover new opportunities for clients

Team Leadership & Internal Influence

Delegate effectively and provide clear direction to junior team membersMentor and coach team members, contributing to their growth and developmentFoster a collaborative, accountable team environment with a focus on high performanceServe as a go-to resource for guidance based on experience and positive leadership

Business Growth & Financial Acumen

Identify opportunities to grow accounts through new initiatives and expanded scopeContribute to new business efforts, including proposal development and pitch participationSupport budgeting and ensure programs are delivered efficiently within agreed parametersBalance client expectations with business value to drive retention and growth

Industry Presence & Network Development

Build and maintain relationships with media, industry contacts, and prospective clientsContribute to thought leadership and knowledge sharing internally and externallyStay informed on industry trends to enhance client strategy and agency positioning

What You Bring

6–10 years of experience in public relations or communications, ideally within a technology-focused agencyProven ability to manage accounts and deliver strategic, results-driven communications programsStrong media relations experience with demonstrated success securing impactful coverageExcellent writing, editing, and presentation skills, including executive-level communicationsStrong knowledge of application of AI in PR & marketing; Ability to develop AI-driven reports, process efficiencies, new service capabilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detailExperience mentoring junior team members and contributing to team leadershipStrong understanding of technology, business trends, and integrated communications strategies
