Post-Construction Assistant Superintendent in Marietta, Missouri at McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Post-Construction Assistant Superintendent will report to the post-construction lead Superintendent and will support the superintendent(s) with oversight of preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance, or repairs, across McCarthys utility-scale PV/BESS portfolio. The role has diverse responsibilities, from people management, planning, logistics, administration, field work, and execution. The candidate will require a unique set of skills to be successful in this role, ranging from electrical, civil, mechanical, troubleshooting, trackers, inverters, and controls/SCADA. As a part of McCarthys growing post-construction group, which includes warranty and maintenance, the role comes with opportunity for advancement and expanded responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide coordination, planning and supervision support to Superintendent and field technicians.
• Participation in Warranty/Maintenance meetings (Internal and External).
• Support root cause investigations by documenting and submitting findings from the field back to management.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture with THA's, LOTO procedures and work plans.
• Identify and address any technical or logistical challenges that arise during corrective maintenance.
• Identify and procure proper materials needed for corrective maintenance cases.
• Ensure that work is performed in accordance with Environmental and Safety requirements.
• Provide technical assistance to junior staff
• Document site issues and resolutions.
• Update and complete required work order documentation, including labor hours, expenses and daily work logs in the MMS software ticketing system
• Prepare timely reports.
• Record time as required in timesheet software.
• Participate in meetings, in person or remotely.
• Travel to sites as requested, Long-distance or overnight travel will be required
• Ensure plants are restored quickly after an unplanned or forced outage.
• Ability to supervise contractors in the field and ensure safe execution of job
• Ability to take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others
• Well-developed and professional interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization, as well as outside customers and vendors

QUALIFICATIONS

• Advance knowledge of electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations.

• Willing to travel and drive long distance
• 3 or more years of experience in a power plant or PV Solar O&M/EPC experience
• Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment.
• Requires use of personal protective safety equipment (i.e., respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, and more).
• May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals.
• Normal plant and/or office environment, including working at heights, high/low ambient temperatures, and high humidity areas.
