Anchor Bay Powder Coat is a small powder coating shop in Michigan that finishes parts for customers who count on quality. We're looking for dependable, hard-working people to join our production team. If you show up, work safely and care about doing the job right, we want to hear from you.

Everyone starts in one area of the shop and gets trained there. Depending on business needs and your interest, you may stay in that area or have the chance to cross-train into others over time.

SCHEDULE

• Full-time position
• 1st shift: 7:00am to 3:30pm
• 2nd shift: 3:00pm to 11:30pm
  • 2nd shift hires may start training on 1st shift before moving to 2nd
• Overtime available (and sometimes required) based on production needs

WHERE YOU'LL WORK

You'll be assigned to one of these areas:

• Part Prep & Masking: clean, mask, plug and stage parts so they're ready for coating
• Sandblasting: blast and prepare part surfaces before coating
• Loading & Unloading: hang parts on racks, hooks and the conveyor line, and take finished parts off
• Quality Inspection: check finished parts against customer and quality standards
• Material Handling, Packaging & Shipping: move materials, package finished orders and get them out the door
• Powder Coating & Paint Line: apply powder coating and support curing and finishing, typically after training in other areas

IN EVERY AREA, YOU'LL

• Follow safety rules and wear the required PPE
• Read work orders and instructions, and complete production paperwork accurately
• Keep your area clean, organized and safe, and take part in 6S and continuous improvement
• Speak up about quality issues, safety concerns or ideas to do things better
• Work with your supervisor and teammates to get orders done right and on time

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. This matters more to us than experience.
• Able to regularly lift, carry, push and pull 40+ lbs (up to 50 lbs) throughout the shift
• Able to stand and walk for a full shift, with frequent bending, reaching and kneeling
• Willing to learn and able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Attention to detail and pride in quality work
• Safety-minded and comfortable wearing PPE
• Works well independently and as part of a team
• High school diploma or GED preferred

A PLUS, BUT NOT REQUIRED

• Experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, warehouse, painting, blasting or coating
• Forklift experience
• Experience working in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality environment
