Dean Mead is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager based out of our Orlando office. At Dean Mead, Human Resources is viewed as a strategic partner to the firm's success. This role offers the opportunity to shape the employee experience, influence firm-wide initiatives, and collaborate directly with leadership on decisions that impact our people and culture. The successful candidate will lead all aspects of the HR function, balancing strategic planning with meaningful day-to-day engagement, while supporting a collaborative, relationship-driven environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Human Resources: Lead the firm's human resources strategy by serving as a trusted advisor to leadership, developing and implementing HR initiatives, workforce planning, organizational development, policy administration, and programs that support the firm's strategic objectives and culture.
  • Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: Direct all aspects of professional staff recruitment and collaborate with managing partners on attorney recruitment, including workforce planning, job descriptions, sourcing, interviewing, compensation recommendations, hiring, onboarding, and orientation to attract and retain top talent.
  • Employee Relations: Foster a positive workplace culture by providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, coaching, disciplinary actions, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, employee engagement, and separations while maintaining confidentiality and consistency.
  • Performance Management and Professional Development: Oversee the firm's performance management process by administering evaluations, supporting managers in goal setting and employee development, coordinating leadership and professional development programs, and promoting a culture of continuous feedback and growth.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Manage the firm's compensation and benefits programs, including salary administration, market benchmarking, annual compensation reviews, health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, leave administration, vendor relationships, and employee communications.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws by administering leave programs, accommodations, workers' compensation, unemployment claims, wage and hour compliance, ACA reporting, I-9 requirements, EEO obligations, employment policies, and confidential employee records.
  • Human Resources Operations: Oversee the daily administration of HR operations, including HRIS management, reporting and analytics, benefits administration, open enrollment, employee recognition programs, HR budgeting, process improvement, and other initiatives that support efficient and effective human resources services across the firm.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible human resources experience required. Professional services or law firm experience strongly preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience administering employee benefits plans.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.

Work Environment:

  • This position reports to work in-person at our Orlando office. Hybrid work arrangements are considered on an as needed basis.
  • Travel to satellite offices required as needed.
