The Preventative Maintenance Supervisor is a key role responsible for owning, implementing and driving Allied Medical’s Preventative Maintenance program and maintaining the facility and equipment in good standards.
Maintenance Planning
- Develop and execute maintenance plans, schedules and programs to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of equipment and facilities to support production priorities. Manages spare parts inventory, resource time spent, vendor support, and forecasted operational interruptions.
Asset Management
- Oversee the maintenance of all machinery, equipment and infrastructure, ensuring that repairs and replacements are executed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Preventive Maintenance
- Establish and maintain a preventive maintenance program to reduce equipment downtime, extend the lifespan of assets and minimize repair costs.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety, environmental and regulatory standards. All activities of maintenance are properly documented in conformance with internal procedures. Represents the facility and equipment maintenance program and procedures during facility inspections.
Team Leadership
- Communicate and collaborate with departments and suppliers to ensure equipment and facility needs are met in a timely manner. Assist engineers in root cause corrective actions when associated with equipment and facility.
Emergency Response
- Co-ordinate and respond to maintenance emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Lead member of the Safety Committee to ensure compliance with local, regional regulations as well as lead trainings for all employees to ensure safe practices are utilized.
Documentation
- Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation related to maintenance activities, expenses and performance metrics.
- Document employee training on maintenance and safety procedures.
Required
- Associate degree or technical college education in a related field
- 5+ years in equipment maintenance, with 2+ years in supervisory or management role
- Must be familiar with gasses such as oxygen, nitrogen, air, and suction type inputs into manufacturing
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device, pharma, or similar GMP setting)
- Strong leadership, team management and problem-solving skills.
- Technical knowledge of maintenance practices, machinery, equipment, and systems.
- Proficiency in budgeting, cost management and resource allocation.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Experience in Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and electronic facility maintenance software
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (Engineering, Maintenance Management, or similar) is preferred.
- Experience with preventive maintenance (PM program design and management
- Proficiency with CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems)
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals
- Cross-functional collaboration — works closely with Quality, Production, and Engineering to balance uptime with compliance
- Attention to detail – critical for documentation accuracy in a regulated environment
- Proactive planning – shifts team from reactive/firefighting maintenance toward predictive/preventive strategies
