Job purpose
The Material Handler Lead is responsible for warehouse functions. This individual monitors the daily activities of workers, loaders, and forklift drivers while ensuring the loading/unloading of all trucks, pulling of material requestions, receiving and shipping of materials are completed accurately, safely, efficiently, and complies GMPs, company policies and regulations.
Duties and responsibilities
- Manage and direct the daily activities of workers, loaders, and forklift drivers
- Efficiently supervise the loading/unloading of all trucks safely, efficiently, GMP compliant
- Works closely with Production, QA, Logistics, et all to execute all planned programs
- Train and supervise warehouse staff personnel
- Adheres to all and enforces all policies and procedures relating to GMP, FIFO, HOLDS, and Expiry of materials
- Maintain and improve Warehouse processes and procedures
- Manage and model the Safety Culture and strive for 100% Safety compliance on policies
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-years’ experience in a lead position, directing Warehouse activities
- 3+ years Forklift experience required with an excellent Safety record
- Must be proficient with operating Stand Up Reach Truck
- Must have strong, positive leadership, communication, and organization skills
- Bilingual skills preferred, not required (English, Spanish)
- Must have strong PC skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and math skills
- Must be self-motivated with a high degree of integrity and be able to perform job duties with minimal supervision on a timely basis
- Past job performance must reflect dependability, maturity, initiative, positive personal
- Demeanor and the ability to exercise good judgement
- SAP, ROSS, PLEX, or other ERP environment skill and abilities a must
Working conditions
- Must be able to work any and all shifts as directed.
- Must be able to work overtime as necessary, including holidays and weekends.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be an avid Safety Champion and adhere to all safety programs and procedures.
Physical requirements
- Must wear non-slip, safety-resistant work shoes.
- Participation in mandatory pre-shift stretches and exercises.
- Proper use of required PPE, including hairnets, beard nets (if needed), and safety gloves.
- Must wear all required PPE when working with equipment or chemicals that require personal protection.
- Physical ability to: stand, sit at a desk, walk around the facility, lift/carry up to 50 lbs unassisted, reach, kneel, crawl, and twist.
- Must possess the ability to see, hear, and communicate with associates and others using professional etiquette.

- Warehouse Supervisor/Warehouse Manager or Shift Production Manager in their absence
