Prep Cook in Windham, New York at Windham Mountain Club

Work Location: In-person role based in Windham, NY.

Seasonal Position: This role is available for the winter season.

Pay: 20 per hour

Anticipated Start Dates: Weather-dependent, typically beginning in early December.

Scheduling Expectations: Part Time evening shifts on weekends and holiday are needed.

Conditions: This role is primarily performed indoors in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Position Summary:

The Prep Cook prepares food items according to recipes and portion standards, maintains a clean and safe workspace, and supports overall kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow food safety, sanitation, and handling standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment including grills, fryers, and steam tables.
• Set up and stock prep stations.
• Prepare fruits, vegetables, sandwiches, salads, soups, meats, and desserts.
• Clean kitchen equipment as needed.
• Store, receive, and rotate food inventory.
• Assist with special events and inventory tasks.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and commercial kitchen equipment.
• Ability to follow directions accurately.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, busy environment.
• Friendly and professional with staff and guests.

Physical Requirements:

• Lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Stand and walk for up to 10 hours.
• Navigate uneven, snow- and ice-covered surfaces.
• Climb stairs and ladders.
• Regularly bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull.
