Description: IT Support Specialist About the Position:

As the IT Support Specialist, you provide frontline technical support for team members and help ensure every employee has the technology, access, and resources needed to be productive from day one. We are looking for someone who has experience working as the sole IT Support Specialist to meet the needs of our growing company.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, supporting people, staying organized, and creating a consistent technology experience across the organization.

This role supports a reliable employee technology experience by coordinating IT onboarding, providing help desk and desktop support, preparing equipment, maintaining systems and asset records, and partnering with HR, business leaders, external vendors, and the IT Manager.

Salary Range: $71,000-$95,000 / year

The above salary range is based on the Denver, Colorado labor market and subject to change based on location.

This position is open to local, hybrid candidates in Lakewood, CO.

Essential Responsibilities:

New Hire Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Coordinate technology onboarding and offboarding, including equipment setup, account creation, access removal, and device collection.
  • Prepare, configure, and deploy laptops, mobile devices, monitors, and peripherals to ensure employees are ready on or before their start date.
  • Manage user accounts, email access, security groups, application permissions, and new hire IT training.

End User Support

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for hardware, software, connectivity, Microsoft 365, VPN, mobile devices, access requests, and collaboration tools.
  • Manage, prioritize, and resolve support tickets efficiently while meeting service standards and SLA requirements.
  • Assess technical issues, recommend solutions, and collaborate with internal teams, the IT Manager, or vendors on complex needs.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service through timely communication, follow-through, and issue resolution.

Hardware & Asset Management

  • Diagnose, repair, replace, and upgrade hardware, including computers, monitors, peripherals, and workstations.
  • Maintain technology inventory and track assets throughout their lifecycle.
  • Coordinate repairs, replacements, warranty claims, deployments, and equipment standards across the organization.

Microsoft 365 & User Administration

  • Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Office applications.
  • Create, modify, and remove user accounts and permissions.
  • Assist users with password resets, multi-factor authentication, and account security.
  • Maintain user access documentation and licensing records.

Vendor Coordination

  • Recommend process improvements that increase efficiency and improve the employee experience.
  • Coordinate support requests with external technology vendors and service providers, track service tickets, and assist with software and hardware procurement.

Cybersecurity, Documentation

  • Support cybersecurity initiatives, end-user training, and compliance with device security policies.
  • Assist with endpoint protection, patch management, software updates, and security incident remediation.
  • Develop and maintain IT procedures, user guides, knowledge base articles, and documentation for common issues and resolutions.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, or related technical support experience.
  • 2+ years of experience working as the sole IT Support Specialist in a hyper-growth startup, small, or mid-size organization
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Office applications.
  • Experience supporting new hire IT onboarding and employee offboarding processes.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, ticketing systems, and asset management tools.
  • Ability to configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain laptops, mobile devices, monitors, printers, and peripherals.
  • Basic networking knowledge, including connectivity troubleshooting, printers, and peripheral devices.
  • Strong customer service mindset with clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests, maintain documentation, and follow through on assigned tasks.

Preferred

  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent hardware certification
  • Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900), CompTIA Network+, or similar certification.
  • Experience with OS imaging and deployment (Windows 10/11, basic Linux)
  • Prior experience with introducing new tools and software for a growing organization

Working Conditions:

Typical Travel: Minimal: 0%–10%

Work Environment: Typical office environment.

Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods, work on a computer, and occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be provided.

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Supervisory duties: None

Partners with: Internal team members, IT Manager, CIO, CFO, leadership, new hires, technology vendors, and support partners.
