In this role, you will play a key part in strengthening fraud prevention and detection capabilities across a diverse portfolio of financial products and services. You will investigate complex cases involving payment fraud, scams, account takeovers, and other forms of financial abuse throughout the customer lifecycle. Working closely with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams, you will help enhance fraud detection models, rules, and operational processes. You will analyze large and varied datasets to identify suspicious patterns, emerging threats, and opportunities to improve risk controls. Your work will directly contribute to protecting customers and financial systems while maintaining a seamless user experience. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, fast-paced environment where sound judgment, analytical thinking, and continuous improvement are essential.

Accountabilities:
  • Investigate financial fraud, scams, payment abuse, and account integrity incidents across multiple financial products and services.
  • Analyze complex datasets, including ACH, debit and credit card transactions, wallet activity, device telemetry, and blockchain information, to identify suspicious behavior and assess potential risks.
  • Communicate directly with customers to gather additional information about suspicious account activity and support accurate, well-informed investigation decisions.
  • Identify emerging fraud trends, behavioral patterns, and potential vulnerabilities, recommending improvements to detection rules, fraud models, features, and internal policies.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer journeys to identify friction caused by fraud prevention controls and recommend adjustments that balance security with customer experience.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to improve fraud detection capabilities and strengthen risk mitigation strategies.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to investigative workflows, operational processes, and fraud management procedures.
  • Prepare reports on significant investigations and broader fraudulent activity, presenting key findings and insights to leadership during regular meetings.
  • Support fraud response activities as needed, including potential on-call responsibilities or extended working hours during significant fraud events.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–5+ years of hands-on fraud investigation experience, particularly involving ACH and credit card fraud.
  • 2–5+ years of direct experience investigating scams, account integrity issues, and related fraudulent activities.
  • Strong understanding of device telemetry, account integrity systems, and internet technologies, including VPNs and other tools commonly associated with suspicious online activity.
  • Excellent analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and make informed decisions based on available evidence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex findings clearly and interact professionally with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in ambiguous, fast-paced situations where information may be incomplete.
  • A balanced approach combining empathy and healthy skepticism, with the ability to recognize, acknowledge, and learn from incorrect decisions.
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • Knowledge of regional fraud patterns and investigative practices, particularly in the United States and Singapore.
    • Experience working with identity verification (IDV), Know Your Customer (KYC), and transaction monitoring systems.
Benefits:
  • Competitive starting compensation, with an hourly pay range of $43.50–$58.00 for candidates based in New York State.
  • Discretionary annual bonus based on applicable performance and business considerations.
  • Long-term incentive compensation through a new-hire equity grant.
  • Comprehensive healthcare plans.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer matching contributions.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Flexible paid time off.
  • Hybrid working arrangements at designated US hub offices, combining in-person collaboration with remote flexibility.
  • Remote working opportunities for employees who do not live near a designated office hub.
  • In-person onboarding at one of the company's office locations.
  • An inclusive and collaborative working environment that values diverse perspectives and equal employment opportunities.
