About This Position
Faculty Position: Hematopathologist
The Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute is seeking a successful candidate, M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree, for its Academic Hematopathologist position with a primary focus on bone marrows. The appointment is commensurate with qualifications and will be in the Hematopathology and Laboratory Medicine section of the Department of Pathology.
Responsibilities:
We are closely affiliated with large and expanding programs in Hematologic Malignancies and Stem Cell Transplant, with strong emphasis on myelodysplasia, acute leukemia and lymphoma. Our growing CAR-T cell program offers excellent opportunities to combine interests in diagnostic pathology and immunotherapy. The candidate will be a member of a multidisciplinary team of physicians and scientists, with opportunities to join established basic research programs, as well as excellent opportunities for translational research in areas of related interest. We train both Pathology residents and Hematopathology fellows.
Requirements:
Successful applicants must be board certified in Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology or have board certification eligibility. Board certification in Anatomic Pathology is also preferred. Clinical duties include evaluation of peripheral blood, bone marrow and lymph node specimens. Opportunities for molecular diagnostic and NGS testing are available for candidates with molecular pathology training. Experience in an academic multi-disciplinary university clinical setting is preferred. Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Florida is required.
