Emergency Department Technician in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin at Froedtert South, Inc.

Emergency Department Technician Job Duties:

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN), the Emergency Department Technician provides patient care for all patients throughout the lifespan.

1. 1. Performs technical skills under the supervision of the Emergency Department physicians and RNs for all patients throughout the lifespan.
   2. Assists medical and nursing staff with patient data collections, patient care, clerical duties and documents/communicates appropriately.
   3. Assists with facilitating interdepartmental and inter-hospital patient transfers as well as patient transfers between the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers and the Emergency Department.

Emergency Department Technician Minimum Requirements:

• High School plus specialized training (6 mons-2 yrs)
• 1 to 3 years
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.
• Must be competent to obtain and process EKG’s per Cardiology protocols within 6 months of hire.
• Current State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) basic licensure, Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) or Medical Assistant (MA).
