About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Facilities Manager to keep our manufacturing operation running safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with all regulatory standards. This is a leadership role with broad ownership. You’ll oversee everything from equipment maintenance and safety programs to hazardous waste compliance, 5S organization, and vendor management.

Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Facilities Manager so hours might slightly vary when meeting with vendors on weekends (that is usually scheduled or event of emergencies)

What You’ll DoMachine Maintenance & Repair (25%)
  • Serve as the primary authority for machine maintenance, repair, and operational integrity across the facility
  • Diagnose and repair facility and production equipment including injection molding machines, electrochemical machine tools, and Swiss lathes, covering electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities for compliance and continuous improvement
  • Keep spare parts, tools, and consumables stocked and organized to minimize repair delays
  • Coordinate machine moves and floor layout changes for workflow, safety, and process improvements
  • Preventative Maintenance (20%)
  • Manage the administration for the planned maintenance system. Also, manage the unplanned maintenance system and all requests. Create strategies to catch equipment issues before they become problems and create planned maintenance to reduce downtime and efficiencies.
  • Oversee upkeep of HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and compressed air systems with working with credible vendors for the company.
  • Safety Oversight & Compliance (15%)
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs and hazard inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions
  • Ensure workplace compliance with OSHA, DEP, and EPA standards
  • Hold full authority to stop any unsafe practice and escalate as needed
  • Maintain all safety equipment, signage, and PPE
  • Partner with HR on annual evacuation drills
  • Keep the Safety Handbook, SOPs, and training materials current
  • Hazardous Waste & Environmental Compliance (15%)
  • Lead hazardous waste handling, storage, labeling, and disposal in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Manage main and satellite accumulation areas with daily compliance checks
  • Complete and review monthly hazardous waste manifests
  • Maintain SOPs and deliver annual training to affected employees
  • Coordinate hazardous and non-hazardous waste removal with approved vendors
  • 5S, Housekeeping & Vendor Oversight (15%)
  • Champion 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) across the facility
  • Manage external vendors including electricians, plumbers, HVAC, pest control, and specialty cleaners
  • Support managers in designing safe, organized workstations and production layouts
  • Verify that vendors and technicians performing work are properly licensed
  • Operational Support (5%)
  • Serve as backup for sterile load pickups and drop-offs using the company truck
  • Act as the primary on-call contact for after-hours facilities emergencies
  • Keep driver’s license and DOT health card current
  • Engineering & Continuous Improvement (5%)
  • Partner with the VP of Manufacturing, Senior Leadership, and Engineering on process improvements
  • Research new equipment to support process changes and efficiency gains
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and safety
  • What You’ll Bring
  • High School, preferable a technical school (looking for a combination of education and experience)
  • 5+ years of facilities, maintenance, or related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience with production equipment (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems)
  • OSHA certified with full working knowledge of and hands-on experience applying OSHA, DEP, and EPA regulations in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience driving a 26 foot (or similar size) company vehicle weekly to sterile load vendor.
  • Valid MA Driver’s License with auto insurance coverage, driving check will be processed.
  • Current and valid DOT Health Card
  • Required current certifications: Forklift, Ladder, OSHA HAZWOPER, DOT Hazardous Materials, RCRA, and OSHA 10-Hour General
  • Prior experience managing a hazardous waste program end-to-end
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and maintenance tracking systems
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and hold vendors and staff accountable
  • Extremely dependable and reliable, with consistent attendance and strong follow-through on commitments
  • Must have own reliable vehicle for maintenance trips, errands, and off-site facility needs
  • Experience in a medical device or other regulated manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and 5S practices
  • Physical Requirements

    This is a physically active, on-site role. You’ll need to be able to standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, reaching, and lifting throughout your shift. Work may involve exposure to typical manufacturing conditions including noise, dust, and chemicals. Proper PPE is provided and required.
